Recipes Meat and Poultry Pork Air Fryer Prosciutto and Mozzarella Grilled Cheese 5.0 (3) 3 Reviews 3 Photos So easy to make and no mess! My favorite Italian deli made a similar sandwich but unfortunately they closed down, so I decided to make a dupe in my air fryer. This makes a very filling lunch, or you can cut it in half and share if pairing with a bowl of soup. Something went wrong. Our team is working on it. Original recipe (1X) yields 1 servings 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened 2 slices sourdough bread 2 ounces prosciutto 3 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into 1/4-inch slices Directions Preheat the oven to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C). Butter one side of a slice of bread and place it on a plate, buttered side down. Evenly top with prosciutto and mozzarella slices. Butter the second slice of bread and place on top, keeping the buttered side facing out. Place in the air fryer and cook until lightly browned and toasted, about 8 minutes. Cook's Notes: If the top slice of your grilled cheese won't stay on because of the air circulating in the air fryer, use toothpicks to secure the corners. You may wish to flip the grilled cheese over halfway through if your air fryer isn't browning evenly. Prosciutto gets saltier as it cooks, so only use a thin layer as to not overpower the sandwich. Another favorite variation of mine is to use Brie and speck, or keep it simple and use plain old American cheese!
