Jalapeño Margarita Ingredients

These are the ingredients you’ll need to make this spicy jalapeño margarita recipe:

  • Salt: Use regular kosher salt or spicy seasoned salt to rim the glasses.
  • Ice: You’ll pour the margarita over ice to serve.
  • Tequila: If you can, use a 100% agave white tequila.
  • Triple sec: Use a high-quality triple sec for the best results.
  • Limes: You’ll need freshly squeezed lime juice and lime wedges for garnishing.
  • Agave nectar: A tablespoon of agave nectar will sweeten things up.
  • Jalapeño: Make sure to seed and dice your jalapeño first, unless you like your margs extra spicy.

Allrecipes Community Tips and Praise

“Excellent drink,” raves SueHoo. “I cut my half jalapeño into pieces before shaking the whole thing and it's nice and zippy on the lips! Also, I used a big glass and made one jumbo margarita out of the recipe; that way one is plenty!!”

“I added a bit more agave nectar and garnished with a couple of fresh jalapeño slices and this is an excellent recipe,” according to one Allrecipes community member.

“I used green Thai chilies instead of jalapeños,” says el chefe. “I garnished with a whole red Thai chili in each glass, which looked rad. Not too spicy, but has a great kick. I'll make it again!”
