Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 1 (8.5 ounce) package cornbread mix (such as Jiffy®)

  • cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans turkey chili with beans, undrained

  • 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese, or as desired (Optional)

  • 1 tablespoon sour cream, or to taste (Optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

  2. Whisk together cornbread mix, milk, and egg in a bowl until slightly lumpy.

  3. Pour turkey chili with beans into a 9-inch pie dish. Spoon cornbread batter over top.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven until cornbread edges begin to brown and the center is set, 20 to 25 minutes.

  5. Top each serving with Cheddar cheese and sour cream.

Recipe Tip

You can use an egg substitute if desired. If you use a different cornbread mix (other than Jiffy), follow the instructions on the box for the additional ingredients (eggs and milk).
