Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings 1 cup shortening 1 cup brown sugar ½ cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 3 eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda ½ teaspoon salt 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese ¼ cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 cup chopped pecans Directions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan. In a large bowl, cream together shortening, brown sugar, and 1/2 cup white sugar. Beat in the 3 eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; blend into the sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips, and set aside. In a separate bowl, mix together the cream cheese and 1/4 cup white sugar.
