The seasonal treats are also super versatile—if you know how to use them. From dessert dips to cheesecakes and cake pops, recipes using Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes have been going viral on social media for years. Our latest addition to the Little Debbie dessert is a no-bake dessert that our test kitchen tasters call the "perfect festive treat for your holiday party or cookie gift box." Oreo balls (or Oreo truffles) are a holiday classic, so we took that idea and swapped in Little Debbie Christmas Trees for cookies to make the easiest 3-ingredient cake truffles ever. Then, to make them extra special for the holidays, they get decorated to look just like those Little Debbies tree treats you know and love. Dotdash Meredith Food Studios How To Turn Little Debbie’s Christmas Tree Cakes Into the Easiest Truffles Ever The process is as simple as they come. Simply add some Little Debbie Christmas Trees to a stand mixer and beat, or use a bowl and a spatula to mix them by hand. The combination of the cake and the frosting from the filling plus the icing coating will start to turn the truffles into fudge-like mixture already. Adding cream cheese helps the mixture hold together, and its tangy flavor helps balance out the sweetness of the cakes. From there, you follow the same steps you'd take with Oreo truffles or cake pops: Portion the mixture using a cookie scoop or two spoons, then freeze them for a few minutes just to set them. Then dip the cake balls in a white chocolatey coating made from candy melts, and decorate with red and green sprinkles and squiggles of red icing. You can use melted red candy melts and a piping bag, but store-bought red cookie icing makes the process even easier. These adorable, delectable cake truffles are sure to be a hit at your next holiday party, especially with the little ones. There are many ways to customize these to your liking! You could use the vanilla-flavored Christmas Tree Cakes instead of chocolate-flavored ones, then dip them in milk or dark chocolate melts instead of white chocolate. Our decoration is just one suggestion—feel free to adorn them with whatever sprinkles you like. However you chose to decorate the outside, the inside is sure to taste fudgy and delicious. Test Kitchen Tips The filling is sticky, so we recommend wearing disposable gloves to roll them to prevent things from getting too messy. If the filling feels too warm and soft to handle, pop the whole mixture in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up, then start again.Make sure you add the sprinkles immediately after dipping. The candy melts set up super quickly since the filling is cold and once the coating hardens the sprinkles won’t stick. We recommend dipping and decorating no more than a few at a time.Store the truffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Editorial contributions by Courtney Kassel.
