Food News and Trends Grocery Lay’s Quietly Rolled Out a Brand-New Flavor for a Limited Time Here's where to find them. By Annie Campbell Updated on August 29, 2024 Even if our summer adventures are coming to an end, Lay’s is making sure our tastebuds get to keep traveling the world. Earlier this year, Lay’s took us on an American road trip with four flavors that celebrated the states from coast to coast. Then, just a few weeks ago, the snack brand sent us on an international vacation with flavors inspired by the rich cuisines of Greece, India, and Korea. Now, Lay’s is continuing this flavorful journey with the quiet roll-out of a new, regionally-inspired chip—but be prepared, the flavor is anything but subtle. Lays/Allrecipes New Lay's Kettle Cooked Habanero Flavor The latest addition to Lay’s Global Flavors collection is the new Kettle Cooked Habanero flavored chips. Inspired by the vibrant and bold tastes of Mexico, these chips pack the fiery heat of habanero peppers into every crunchy bite. This limited-edition flavor offers a unique twist on Lay’s usual spicy flavors, making it a must-try for anyone who likes a little heat in their snacks. While habanero isn’t an entirely new flavor to the Lay’s line-up—considering there are over 200 flavors in the chip catalog—the Kettle Cooked Habanero version is a fresh take. The kettle-cooked process gives them a thicker, crunchier texture that plays off the bold seasoning beautifully. "Love love love these," said one reviewer. "I’m buying my next bag now." Lays/Allrecipes The new spicy chips are joining the Lay’s Wavy Tzatziki, Lay’s Masala, and Lay’s Honey Butter flavors as part of the collection that will “take your taste buds on a journey around the globe without having to step foot on a plane,” the brand shared in a statement. The Mexican-inspired snack will be available at select retailers (including Target) for a limited time. So far, the entire Global Edition Flavor Drop has been well received by consumers. Fans have praised the South Korean Honey Butter flavor as “so addicting. It tastes like a buttered roll,” while the Greek Tzatziki flavor has also gained a following. “I got the tzatziki, love them!” one fan shared. So, as we fill up our fall calendars and settle back into our cozy routines, we’re more than happy to let Lay’s take care of our travel cravings. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
