Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Published on September 30, 2023 The verdict is in, and I’ve come to realize the internet loves eggs. Especially fried eggs. And if you’ve been an avid social media user over the last year, you may remember chili crisp fried eggs and pesto fried eggs, both of which were equally tasty, easy to make, and only required two main ingredients. So really, what’s not to love? Fast forward to present day and now feta eggs have entered the stage and stolen the show. Nea Arentzen Fried feta eggs are exactly what they sound like: eggs cooked with crumbled feta until the whites are set, the yolks are nice and jammy, and the feta has become crispy around the edges. You can either serve them sunny-side up, or you can cover the pan with a lid to allow the steam to finish cooking them. All you need to make fried feta eggs is crumbled feta–either pre-crumbled or fresh–a few large eggs, a nonstick pan, and some red pepper chili flakes for an extra spice kick. If you choose to turn the fried feta eggs into a breakfast sandwich or taco of some sort, you’ll also of course need the fixings for that (see more below). How To Make Fried Feta Eggs Heat your nonstick skillet over medium, then sprinkle a generous amount of crumbled feta cheese in a circle, leaving a hole in the center for the egg. You don’t need to add any oil or butter since there’s already enough fat from the cheese. Crack one or two large eggs into the center of the feta ring (the feta will have started melting already–that’s okay!), then sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes and cover the pan with a lid. As mentioned above, this traps the steam which helps to set the egg whites without having to flip the whole egg. Once the egg has finished cooking and the edges of the feta are browned and crispy, transfer the fried feta egg to a plate and serve. Nea Arentzen How To Serve Fried Feta Eggs One of my favorite ways to eat fried feta eggs (or eggs in general) is with on top of avocado toast with a drizzle of hot honey, as pictured above. Try placing the fried feta egg on a toasted corn tortilla with mashed avocado to make a breakfast taco. Or, serve it with pita instead of toast, and fill it with a cucumber-tomato salad with a handful of arugula. Anyway you serve it, you are bound to fall in love with this new flavor-packed extra-crispy way to fry up your morning eggs. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
