Ground Beef Products Affected by Recall According to the FSIS website, the recalled ground beef products bear the establishment number “EST. 5712” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Additionally, you can find images of the product labels on the FSIS website. These items were shipped to distributors in four states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan. Coli Infections There are currently no reports of illness related to this recall, but E. coli O157:H7 bacteria can make people sick anywhere from 2 to 8 days after consumption. Symptoms include diarrhea (often bloody), abdominal cramps, and dehydration. The illness usually subsides in about one week, but those with weakened immune systems may develop a more severe infection, so seek medical care if you experience symptoms.
