Dolly Parton Has 6 New Baking Mixes, and They're the Most Delicious Yet

There are plenty of reasons why we love Dolly Parton. She’s a music legend (when I saw her in a surprise appearance at a concert a few years ago, I surprised myself by crying), she’s known for showing her generosity in big ways, and like us, she loves to cook.

Two years ago, Parton and Duncan Hines teamed up to release a line of baking mixes, and last year the line expanded with additional mixes. Happily, there’s more good news in the Dolly Parton-baking mix world for the third year in a row.

Dolly Parton’s New Baking Mixes

The new addition to the Dolly Parton line includes six new mixes. While up until now, the baking line has primarily featured Southern-style desserts as well as a few savory goodies, the new items venture into breakfast territory (plus a couple of new dessert mixes, too). 

We were lucky enough to chat with Dolly about the new mixes and learned that she’s big on breakfast. In an interview with Allrecipes, Parton said, “If I have time I like to have a good hearty breakfast, but I always have to add something sweet to it because that starts your day.”

The four new breakfast mixes are Buttermilk Pancakes, Blueberry Muffin & Bread Mix, Banana Nut Muffin & Bread Mix, and Cinnamon Swirl Crumb Cake & Muffin Mix. The muffin mixes each cost $4.40, and the Buttermilk Pancakes mix comes in at $3.99.

The mixes are perfect for whipping up a big weekend breakfast spread, which Dolly herself is apt to prepare with her husband, Carl. She told us, “We often have pancakes on the weekends. I like to fix him special things to make him feel special. It just seems like the weekend is the perfect time to do things that you don’t necessarily have time for through the week. We celebrate on weekends with our breakfast foods.” 

The final two mixes added to the lineup take us firmly back to dessert land, with the Favorite Chocolate Flavored Cake Mix and Favorite Yellow Cake Mix (both priced at $3.49). If you really want to bake like Dolly, we recommend going for the chocolate cake mix. According to her, "I love chocolate cake and my husband loves chocolate cake, so I tend to make more of that than anything else."

Fans are already raving about the new items. On an Instagram post by food influencer Markie_devo, commenters said, “The pancakes are amazing🔥 definitely some of the best pancake mix,” and, “Can confirm that the crumb cake is to die for.” With reviews like that, along with Dolly's stamp of approval, these mixes will definitely earn a spot on our grocery list.
