They know exactly how to serve it, too.

What is it about Costco’s bakery items that gets shoppers so excited? Is it the generous sizes, like the Key lime pie that’s over 4 pounds? Is it how the bakery department clearly has a pulse on the flavors we crave (Reese's Cups) and puts them directly into pies? Or is it that they’re all just so darn good, customers run to the store for them? Undoubtedly, it’s a combination of all of these things, plus the prices often make it more cost-effective to buy the finished product rather than all the ingredients to make it yourself.

Costco’s latest addition to its bakery isn’t dessert, but it does have fans excited, exclaiming about how “delicious” it is, and brainstorming all the ways to serve it.

Cornbread, With a Little Something Extra

Laura Lamb at Costco Hot Finds wowed her Instagram followers with a video of her latest bakery find that her local store was sampling: green chile cornbread. She loved it so much that she immediately bought the 2-pound loaf.

At home, she chose to warm slices of the cornbread in the microwave for about 15 seconds before eating, commenting that the bread isn't spicy but does have a “delicious buttery, slightly sweet flavor.”

The loaf of cornbread is $6.99, and Costco shoppers are excited about its deliciousness and how they plan to serve it.

“It’s the absolute best cornbread ever!! I’m going back tomorrow to get more for sure!!” said one commenter. Others also raved: “Bought it this weekend and the whole family LOVED it!” and “This is delicious! We heated some up on the grill.”

Grilling it is one way to serve it, but Costco lovers have many other ideas, too.

How Costco Shoppers Are Serving Green Chile Cornbread

Laura got the ideas rolling for how to serve the cornbread when she commented, “I hope they have this when the chili comes back!!! Can you even imagine that combo?!” One commenter chimed in saying she can't wait to try it with Costco's tortilla soup.

Many of her followers agreed that serving it on the side of chili or soup was a good idea, but some had other ideas that sound just as good. Several commenters suggested melting cheese on top, while one person took the concept even further with the addition of a fried egg, bell peppers, onion, and hot sauce. We particularly love the idea of one user, who can't wait to drizzle the cornbread with the ultra-trendy hot honey.

We love all of these serving suggestions, and we think this newest bakery item will become fall's hottest mealtime addition.
