Photo: Lecia Landis/Dotdash Meredith With the temperatures cooling down and daylight shortening, it's natural to crave comforting foods like mac and cheese, chili, and baked pasta. And, of course, there's nothing quite like a cheesy, meaty lasagna on a cold night. But we all know how much work goes into crafting a perfectly layered lasagna. Luckily, Costco shoppers are getting an easy weeknight shortcut—in soup form—after spotting a new item in the warehouse store's refrigerated section. Costco's New Lasagna Soup by Heritage Speciality Foods Costco now has a lasagna soup some members are calling "a new favorite." The soup is made by Heritage Specialty Foods, a family-owned-and-operated food manufacturer based in Portland, Oregon. Redditors have taken to the social media platform to share their love for the premade soup, saying it’s “good in a Hamburger Helper nostalgia kind of way” and even “Garfield-approved.” The lasagna soup is made with spicy Italian sausage, beef, noodles, and a tomato broth. Reported to be found in the refrigerated section where dips, cheeses, and other specialty foods are sold, it comes in two 24-ounce packages and sells for just under $12. “I tried this due to a previous post here,” one Redditor wrote. “So good I’m having it for dinner tonight.” In an Instagram post about the soup, Heritage Specialty Foods said it’s available "now at a Costco near you." Here’s hoping this viral soup makes its way to stores around the country. But in the meantime, if you can't find it at your local warehouse, we've got you covered with this homemade slow cooker version. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
