December 2023 Nice easy recipe and very tasty.Unfortunately mine stuck to my loaf pan despite having greased my non-stick pan. I noticed the swirling pushed the sugar/cinnamon powder onto the bottom and sides of the pan, which then carmelized and made it stick.I agree with other reviewers in that it is more like a loaf cake rather than a bread, but I was expecting that given the pictures and the oil in it. I will definitely be making it again but will either line my loaf pan with parchment paper or try making it into a coffee cake by putting it into a cake pan as another reviewer mentioned.BTW, It tastes even better the next day. November 2023 I’ve made this a few times and it is delicious!I add some diced celery and garlic in with the onions to spruce up the flavour as well as 2 tsps of our favourite spice mix. Lastly I added one additional can of soup as we like to have lots of sauce.I have even started to make double batches on occasion as this freezes very well. I put them into the slow cooker the evening before and let them cook all night. The house did really smell in the morning and for a long time afterwards, but if you put out a bowl of vinegar on your counter it quickly absorbs the residual smell. I used regular yellow cooking onions and didn't add any sugar, which worked great! I have made this a few times and I prefer to make large batches and then freeze them in a few different portion sizes for later use. I don't plan to ever go back to the stove top method! I have made it a couple of times now and each time I ask myself why so much time has elapsed since I last made it. I did make some changes to cut back on the fat content in it, which is what I do with all of my cake & muffin recipes -- half the amount of fat that is called for and the other half unsweetened applesauce.....great moisture and flavour are always retained.
