A keeper! Great flavors Easy to follow Worth the effort
My dog loves this. It’s easy to make. It’s definently worth the time and Nala (myDog) has food allergies and she has been on this food for a month now and has quit scratching practically all together now.Affordable too.

A keeper! Great flavors Worth the effort Easy to follow
After trying multiple grocery brand dog foods and realizing my puppy was allergic to grains and knowing my 13 year old dog was seriously overweight I decided to try this recipe out. I spent lots of money on different food which they both refused to eat. I made this, doubled the recipe and added sweet potatoes and substituted green beans for the spinach. They BOTH ate every bite and wanted more. It was worth the cost and effort just to see them both happy, licking their bowls clean and knowing it was healthy for them!

OK with tweaks
I’m pretty new to making dogfood. This is a great base, but I’m adding ground flax seed, chia seed, cinnamon, ginger, & turmeric. Maybe more as I continue my research. (1/2 tsp of each flax, chia & turmeric. 1/4 tsp cinnamon & ginger added to each meal.

Worth the effort
My dog LOVES this recipe. I wanted her off dog food and onto good quality food and to lose a bit of weight if possible. Everyone is asking how much to feed homemade food. I have researched this and a good rule is: dogs weight in poundsX10grams. So if your dog is 50 lbs that would be 500grams per day and you would divide it into 250grams per feed. That’s what I’m doing however my dog is about 80lbs and I want her to be 60-70 lbs so I’m feeding her the grams for the desired weight. I confirmed this with my vet and he was happy with this plan. She seems much more satisfied on this food! Thank you for the recipe. The only thing I did differently is used peas instead of spinach because I know she likes peas. And instead of the sunflower oil I added a dog omega oil supplement and a dog multivitamin supplement on top right before each serving.

I used sweet potatoes instead of carrots and green beans instead of spinach. I doubled the recipe. I used diced beef roast and pork loin. I also used beef liver instead of chicken because my dog is allergic to chicken.

My 11 yo rescue chiweenie loves this!We use olive oil instead of sunflower. For a treat every now and again, we'll sub half the oil for peanut butter. We've used different types of meat, but always the same quantity. Lean beef, turkey, pork, fish, and once Veggie beef, because it was all we had.We always add some bone broth. We'll sometimes switch out the spinach with kale, depending on what we have.Sometimes we add pumpkin puree. When we did this, we subbed half of the carrots and apples for the pumpkin. We add the ground up eggshells to each meal, not as a whole. When it comes to how much to give, it was recommended to me that they get 100 grams per every 10lbs. That's about 3.5 oz, or just a smidge under half a cup. YMMV.10 lbs - ½ cup, 2x a day15 lbs - ¾ cup, 2x a day20 lbs - 1 cup, 2x a day25 lbs - 1¼ cups, 2x a day30 lbs - 1½ cups, 2x a day35 lbs - 1¾ cups, 2x a day40 lbs - 2 cups, 2x a day45 lbs - 2¼ cups, 2x a day50 lbs - 2½ cup, 2x a day55 lbs - 2¾ cup, 2x a dayOur pup is a licker, so this is good to puree and put on a lick mat every once in a while.I'll freeze this in bricks in gallon-size bags, like the hack for ground hamburger. I break a couple of bricks off and keep them in the fridge to defrost. Most of the time we'll warm it up for a few seconds in the microwave. But, if we've just come in from the heat, he likes it cold.

I love this all natural and good food recipe. What are the feeding guidelines based on weight? My dog weighs 25lbs. and I'm not sure how much to feed her.
