My fault as I forgot to take into account that the butter was salted. Had I used half shortening the salt may have been fine. I made half the batch at 15 minutes for crunchy, my favorite, and half at 13 minutes for a chewy center for the other cookie eater in the house. Both of us were happy. Very good recipe, great with oats! Helpful (0) Mom's Best Macaroni Salad 02/03/2018 I made no changes, prepared exactly as written. I could barely stop eating it to get it to the fridge. So good! Helpful (1) Easy Blackberry Cobbler 06/07/2015 Really good! I adapted the recipe to 12 servings because I had six cups of blackberries and 3 cups of red raspberries. I reduced the amount of sugar called for and it had the sweet/tart flavor I was hoping for. With the full measure of sugar called for, it would still be excellent, so if you have a serious sweet tooth, go for it! The topping is just the right proportion--more in this case is not better. I used butter in the topping recipe and it leaves a nice buttery aftertaste. Try this--if you're a berry lover, you cannot go wrong. Helpful (0) Buttercream-Coconut Cake Icing 05/09/2015 Minus the nuts, it is divine just as written. I used it to frost a coconut cake, sprinkled coconut on top. Over-the-top delicious! Helpful (1) Oreo Cookie Bark 12/23/2014 It's sheer simplicity. and who doesn't like Oreos? I only had a small sample before packaging it all up for gifts, but it was really tasty, and oh so quick to prepare. Very easy. I did spread it thin and there were some holes, but it broke into pieces easily. (Just got feedback from the recipients--this one's a winner!)
