Excellent and easy soup! We added extra barley which then required more chicken broth. The pearl barley does the trick...no soaking and it was ready in the hour of simmering. We threw in some shredded rotisserie chicken to get it used up. I didnt' have any celery in the house so I substituted with celery salt and cut back on the regular salt. Will be a definite addition to my soup making rotation!

This is a very nice casserole! We love the sweet, buttery regular SPC, but this is a refreshing change. I did add sauted onion and garlic (small onion and 1 clove). I folded it in after processing the rest of the ingredients together. Thanks for the recipe :)

I was searching but could not find a previous recipe so I thought I'd give this one a try. It wasn't till after I started that I realized the recipe called for two packages of spinach and I only had one. I used all ingredients as called for except the one package and I cut back on the milk by 1/4 cup. I added a little nutmeg too. Although the bacon was good....it's not my favorite flavor to go with the creamed spinach. I might try some parmesan next time too. Thanks!

Excellent recipe! After looking at the other review I decided to add some mustard too. My hubby loves grainy brown, so I spread some on the dough before putting the meat mix on. We also sprinkled some mozzarella and cheddar cheese on the meat mix before rolling up the log. We both agree that the dough is wonderful. Held its shape well. I used a older pan....but didn't grease it enough and the pinwheels stuck slightly, but still held their shape. We are thinking this might be good with a beef/mushroom gravy type sauce to put over them. I'm also toying with trying to make individual appetizer size wheels. Thank you for a great Steeler Sunday meal. Was in a half hour before kick off and we were eating mid way into the first quarter.

Like so many others my mother made these every year at Christmas (and sometimes a month later for my birthday). Not sure if this is the exact recipe she used but all the ingredients are the same. We got to the point of not putting nuts on top as many don't care for in our family. I'm adding to my recipe box for future use. Know I'll make at some point in the future. Diet or no diet! They are that good.

OMG! These are the best soft cookies ever! I can see making little finger cookies with this dough and a soft icing to spread inside the layers. Will definitely make these again!
