I stuck to the recipe and it turned out beautifully!! Just delicious! I will definitely make this again, maybe with another berry, but it was a good way to use some of the wild blackberries on our property.

Easy to follow Worth the effort Family favorite
I used blackberries the first time and pineapple the next time. This is easy to make and I noticed several people said the berries were too thin so I made sure to cook the fruit mixture the whole 5 minutes after adding the white sugar and it was perfect.

Great flavors A keeper! Worth the effort
Love the size. Actually many this half blueberry and half blackberry. I can see using just about any berry. Cake had nice flavor and consistency. A bit dense but moist.

Must admit I used this recipe for the sponge mix mainly. Strawberries are not in season here. Only change I made was to add 2 tablespoons more milk to give a runny mixture. I baked it in a loaf tin with a layer of pears, layer of cake mix, layer of apples then final layer of cake mix. Took longer to bake, 1 hour in total, with the loaf tin covered for the lady 20 mins. Delicious moist cake loved by all. Thanks for a great recipe. I will try it with strawberries next time. CORFU, GREECE

More cobbler than cake. Cake mixture is too thick to pour over top.had to spoon it out little by little. Very dissappointed.
