She has written for a number of publications including Bon Appetit, Business Insider, Atlas Obscura, Taste of Home, and Polygon. In 2021 her story "How Bootleg Fast Food Conquered Iran" was adapted into "Gastro Obscura: A Food Adventurer's Guide."

Education

Sarra received undergraduate degrees in English and journalism at the University of Georgia in 2014. She received her Master's of Fine Arts in narrative writing from the University of Georgia in 2017.
