Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Published on April 22, 2021 Sometimes, the best dishes are made when you combine foods you know and love just to see how they "fit" together. It's like dating, but probably more delicious and less stressful. Certainly, food mashups are nothing new, and sometimes, they can get pretty exciting when the right ingredients find their way onto a plate together. But our comfort food-loving souls were not quite ready for the latest brilliant mashup: Stouffer's new LasagnaMac, which combines a classic lasagna, with layers of meat, tomato sauce, and noodles, with a center layer of cheddar-rich macaroni and cheese. That's right. Stouffer's is making a macaroni-and-cheese lasagna, or a lasagna stuffed with macaroni and cheese. Or is it macaroni and cheese topped with lasagna? Either way, it's genius. As part of the brand's Happyfull campaign, this combination dish makes a lot of sense — who wouldn't be happy and full with mac and cheese and lasagna in the same dish? "Bringing together two of our best-selling products is a simple way to express the intent of our new marketing campaign, Happyfull," Megan McLaughlin, brand marketing manager of Stouffer's, says in a statement. "We worked to create a recipe that will make our fans feel both happy and full. LasagnaMac is a great example of how of our innovation is anchored in consumer obsession — and not to mention, it's incredibly delicious." As for how to get it, it seems availability will be limited to a giveaway for a select number of fans this summer. Stouffer's hasn't shared details quite yet on how to win, but a good bet is to look out on their Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages for more information. Courtesy of Stouffer's Of course, there's always a chance it will become more widely available. "Depending on the love we see for LasagnaMac, we may just have to see what we can do about getting it in stores," a representative for the brand says in an email. As lasagna is essentially a variant of macaroni and cheese — albeit with savory sauce and meat often layered in — this sounds like a match made in comfort food heaven.
