Whenever there’s an opportunity to shop there, I will always choose the German chain over any other store. Why? Because it offers great products at low prices. We’ve reported on this a few times, but Aldi has a great bare-bones method that allows it to keep its prices low. One of the main techniques is that most of Aldi’s products are private label items, sold under one of many Aldi-exclusive brands. And, even though they’re generic, I think that some of Aldi’s products are even better than their name-brand counterparts. Aside from the staples like Aldi’s Irish butter and all the cheese, I will always stock up on Aldi brand snacks. However, I recently found out that my favorite Aldi private label snack has been discontinued and my Aldi shopping will never be the same. Aldi's Pueblo Lindo Taquitos Discontinued Aldi/Allrecipes It’s official: Aldi has discontinued its Pueblo Lindo Taquitos chips. After not finding them in stores for months, Aldi has finally confirmed that my favorite chips have been removed from shelves. The Pueblo Lindo Taquitos were a rolled corn tortilla chip coated in a thick dusting of spicy chile and lime seasoning. They were quite similar to Takis Fuego, which Aldi now sells in Pueblo Lindo’s place. And, sure, Takis can fulfill your need for a spicy, crunchy tortilla chip, but they’re nothing like Aldi’s Taquitos. Even though Takis are the OG, I thought Pueblo Lindo’s Taquitos were even better. They always seemed to have more seasoning, more flavor, and more spiciness than a traditional Taki. And, trust me, I’m not the only one who loved them. “Aldi Taquitos were all the best parts of Takis—addictive, super crunchy, sinus-clearing—but they actually tasted like chile-lime instead of just being hot,” said Allrecipes Magazine editorial director Carrie Boyd. What To Buy In Place of Pueblo Lindo Taquitos Now that my favorite snack is gone (but truly never forgotten), what will I be buying instead? Well, Aldi now sells the real Takis Fuego if you want the non-dupe. But, there are other rolled tortilla chips that give off a similar vibe to Aldi’s version—including Doritos Dinamita and Trader Joe’s Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. While these varieties can satisfy my need for a snack, they won't fill the spicy chile-lime rolled tortilla chip-sized hole in my heart left by the Pueblo Lindo Taquitos. Was this page helpful?
