Our Mission

The Asian Americans with Disabilities Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in the spirit of intersectionality, creating space to explore the ways in which disability and Asian American identity interact.

Our mission is simple: AADI provides the next generation of disabled Asian American leaders with accessible resources so that they can combat anti-Asian racism and ableism in their own communities.

What We Do

Hosting events and offering leadership opportunities

With the success of our inaugural speaker panel, featuring disabled Asian American activists and policymakers, AADI will host more events to create a pipeline for disabled Asian American leaders.

Building a community to support Asian Americans with disabilities

Through community, AADI brings together both disabled Asian Americans and allies in a space for learning and growth. We hope to amplify stories that reflect the intersectionality of the disabled community.

Creating a nationally accessible resource guide

Our accessible resource guide was created to combat ableism within the Asian American community through first-person testimonials, comprehensive peer-reviewed research, and briefs from our own panel.

Thank you to our funders for supporting our initiatives!
