Zenith Electronics LLC is an American brand of consumer electronics owned by South Korean company LG Electronics. The company was previously an American manufacturer of radio and television receivers and other consumer electronics, and was headquartered in Glenview, Illinois. After a series of layoffs, the consolidated headquarters moved to Lincolnshire, Illinois. For many years, their famous slogan was "The quality goes in before the name goes on." LG Electronics acquired a controlling share of Zenith in 1995; Zenith became a wholly owned subsidiary in 1999. Zenith was the inventor of subscription television and the modern remote control, and the first to develop HDTV in North America.

Zenith DTT900 Converter Box
I still have and use CRT televisions. I canceled my cable subscription a few yers ago and put an antenna for free over-the-air broadcasts. during this transition, I've tried many different conversion boxes. Homeworx, Maganovox, Digital Stream, and iView to name a few. (I incorrectly said "iStream" in the video. I meant to say 'iview.") By far, the Zenith DTT8900 (and DTT901) is the best converter box! If you still use on of these big beautiful CRTs, then the Zenith converter box is the one to get!

NEW 1964 LINE OF ZENITH TELEVISION SETS!
Portland, Oregon Zenith distributor, Bubby Cronin, made this film to reach all of his dealers in the Pacific Northwest in the fall of 1963 to show off the new line of Zenith television sets. Bubby, sadly, passed away in 2016. His sons run the family business, Electrical Distribution Inc., but he graciously gave me an on-camera tour of his private television set museum in 2009 and a portion of it appears in "TV MAN." I am hopeful that the whole tour will appear at some point as supplemental material on a home video release because Bubby showed me some amazing television sets that the American Zenith company manufactured over its 50-year history before it was purchased and dismantled by LG Electronics in 1999.
