Young Communist League to review the state of PYA
The Progressive Youth Alliance has failed to take centre stage in dealing with issues confronting the country's youth. This is the concession by the Young Communist League of South Africa, whose leadership will over the next three days be reviewing the state of the PYA and how to transform it into a formidable force. The PYA has in recent years seen infighting amongst its ranks which includes the South African Students' Congress Organisation, ANC Youth League, Young Communist League, and the high school representative body COSAS.

Question Time: Young Communist League, 04 July 2016
The Young Communist League made news headlines last month by supporting allegations by its mother body the South African Communist Party, that the Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza was 'harassing' the Party. The Young Communist League went further by saying that Ntlemeza's appointment was not legitimate.
Meanwhile the League's National Secretary Mluleki Dlelanga addressed the League's national rally in Johannesburg over the weekend. He said while they will rally behind the ANC during the August the 3rd Local Elections, they are putting pressure on the SACP to contest future elections on its own. The League will host a
political school later this month to prepare the Young Communists to take over the running of the country.

On Saturday 10 December 2022, the London Branch of the Young Communist League of Britain gave remembrance to The British Battalion, who returned to London via Victoria Station on 7 December 1938, after serving as volunteer fighters during the Spanish Civil War.
Members walked across the Golden Jubilee Bridge and through the Southbank crowds, carrying flags of the International Brigades and photos of some of the League members who had been killed during the war, before reaching the International Brigades Memorial in Jubilee Park.
Here members spoke about the heroism and sacrifice made by many ordinary working class men and women, including the following message from YCL General Secretary, Johnnie Hunter:
“Comrades, your commemoration of the return of the British Battalion today is a palpable demonstration that our history lives and burns bright in a new generation. The volunteers of the International Brigades, those who returned, those who made the ultimate sacrifice, those from Britain and those from distant shores, all exemplify the very best of our class and humanity - selflessness, bravery and dedication to the struggle.
Our greatest tribute to them is to build the struggle for peace and Socialism in our lifetimes. They will never grow old, they will never fade from our memories or their names from our lips, they live on through us - they are legend.
Long live the International Brigades!
Long live proletarian internationalism!
Venceremos!”
The names of all 63 known Young Communist League members who were martyred during the Spanish Civil War were then read aloud, before a minute's silence was given.
Long live the British Battalion!
Long live the Young Communist League!
Music: 'Ballad of Heroes' by Benjamin Britten, written for the fallen International Brigaders.

Young Communist League of Britain: 100th Anniversary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC)

Hello Comrades, the Young Communist League of Britai...
Berkan Çelebi sends greetings to the Communist Youth League of China on 100 years since their foundation.
-
Hello Comrades, the Young Communist League of Britain sends our fraternal greetings to our comrades in the Communist Youth League of China during the 100th anniversary of your league.
In a period of harsh economic strife, the COVID-19 pandemic, and attacks on the youth and environment of the world, the CYCL and the People’s Republic of China have provided the youth communist movement of the world with a great source of hope and inspiration. We salute the struggle of the Chinese youth against imperialism and the support for their party.
The British youth have paid close attention to the eradication of extreme poverty, the efforts against desertification, and the strong fightback against the COVID-19 pandemic in China.
In the hope to build our own fairer society, the CYCL's successes in building their own, provides us with confidence in our struggle at home and we look forward to the continued prosperity of both our leagues. The dichotomy presented between the responses issued by both of our governments goes to show that socialism provides the only answer to the attacks on the environment which forces the youth into a fearful position of extinction, the exploitation of young workers and students, and the cost of living crisis that deprives working people of their dignity. A solution is possible and that is found under a system of government led by the working class.
The Young Communist League of Britain again sends their greetings to the CYCL on their 100th year anniversary and looks forward to another 100 years of struggle.
Long Live Marxism-Leninism
Long Live Our Fraternal Leagues
Long live the international youth communist movement!
