Delia Ann Derbyshire (5 May 1937 – 3 July 2001) was an English musician and composer of electronic music and musique concrète. She is best known for her electronic realisation of Ron Grainer's theme music to the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and for her pioneering work with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop.
Derbyshire was born in Coventry, daughter of Emma (née Dawson) and Edward Derbyshire. of Cedars Avenue, Coundon, Coventry. Her father was a sheet-metal worker. She had one sibling, a sister, who died young. Her father died in 1965 and her mother in 1994.
During the Second World War, immediately after the Coventry Blitz in 1940, she was moved to Preston, Lancashire for safety. Her parents had moved from there originally and most of her surviving relatives still live in the area. She was very bright and, by the age of four, was teaching others in her class to read and write in primary school, but said "The radio was my education". Her parents bought her a piano when she was eight years old. Educated at Barr's Hill Grammar School from 1948 to 1956, she was accepted at both Oxford and Cambridge, "quite something for a working class girl in the 'fifties, where only one in 10 [students] were female", winning a scholarship to study mathematics at Girton College, Cambridge but, apart from some success in the mathematical theory of electricity, she claims she did badly. After one year at Cambridge she switched to music, graduating in 1959 with a BA in mathematics and music, having specialised in medieval and modern music history. Her other principal qualification was LRAM in pianoforte.
…with Love is the second studio album from Irish singer-songwriter, Mary Byrne. The album was released on 25 November 2011 in Ireland, and 5 March 2012 in the UK. The album was produced by Phil Coulter. The album peaked to number 10 on the Irish Albums Chart.
On 13 September 2011, it was announced that Mary Byrne had asked to end her record deal with Sony, and asked to switch to Universal. It was later announced that she had started working on a second album, produced by Phil Coulter, to be released in Ireland by Universal Music Ireland, and in the UK by Decca UK. On 2 November, Mary Byrne stated on her Facebook page that her new album was to be released in Ireland on 25 November. Her management team later announced that the album would be released the following year in March for the UK.
She appeared on The Late Late Show the day of Ireland release, and talked to Ryan Tubridy after performing a song on the album called 'Thank God That This Was My Life' written for her by Phil Coulter. Mary is due to have a concert featuring her latest songs from the album with Phil Coulter in the Olympia Theatre on 8 May 2012. The public demand on ticket sales was so overwhelming, 5 extra nights were added, evidently resulting in a total of a 6 night residency that ended on 13 May.

With Love is a studio album by French singer Amanda Lear, released in 2006 by Dance Street. The album is a collection of covers of songs previously performed by other female vocalists.
The album was recorded at Blue Sound Studio in Levallois-Perret and LR Studio in Villeneuve between May and August 2006. It contains covers of evergreens and jazz standards by the disco diva's own favourite divas, among them Eartha Kitt, Dalida, Peggy Lee, Mae West, Nina Simone, Marlene Dietrich and Juliette Gréco. The album came five years after the album Heart, on which Lear covered three evergreens: "Hier Encore", "The Look of Love" and "Lili Marleen", and only a year after her covers compilation Sings Evergreens. Lear had also released an all-cover EP in 1985, A L.
The album was released by ZYX Music in Germany in 2007 with a bonus live recording of the track "Johnny", and in 2008 in Italy under the title Amour toujours (French for Love Forever) with two re-recordings of Lear's Seventies hits "Queen of Chinatown" and "Tomorrow" as bonus tracks. The album was re-reissued by ZYX Music again in November 2008, then as a mid-price release under the title My Baby Just Cares for Me, with a different artwork and without any of the bonus tracks. The digital version of the album includes both the live version of "Johnny" and new versions of "Queen of Chinatown" and "Tomorrow".
Prior to its uniform adoption of proportional representation in 1999, the United Kingdom used first-past-the-post for the European elections in England, Scotland and Wales. The European Parliament constituencies used under that system were smaller than the later regional constituencies and only had one Member of the European Parliament each. The constituency of Derbyshire was one of them.
When it was created in 1979, it consisted of the Westminster Parliament constituencies of Belper, Bolsover, Derby North, Derby South, Derbyshire South East, Derbyshire West, High Peak, and Ilkeston. From 1984 until its abolition, it consisted of Amber Valley; Ashfield; Bolsover; Derby North; Derby South; Derbyshire West; Erewash; and High Peak.
Derbyshire is a surname. Notable people with the surname include:
Derbyshire is a former United Kingdom Parliamentary constituency. It was a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of England then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1832. It was represented by two Knights of the Shire.
The constituency, which first returned members to Parliament in 1290, consisted of the historic county of Derbyshire. (This included the borough of Derby; even though Derby elected two MPs in its own right, it was not excluded from the county constituency, and owning property within the borough could confer a vote at the county election.)
In medieval times, the MPs would have been elected at the county court, by the suitors to the court, which meant the tiny handful of the local nobility who were tenants in chief of the Crown. However, from 1430, the Forty Shilling Freeholder Act extended the right to vote to every man who possessed freehold property within the county valued at £2 or more per year for the purposes of land tax; it was not necessary for the freeholder to occupy his land, nor even in later years to be resident in the county at all.

I don't mind you telling me what's been on your mind lately
I don't mind you speaking up
I know sometimes I can be all wrapped up and into me
I can be in such a rush
Just slow me down, slow me down
Tell me tomorrow everything will be around
Just slow me down, slow me down
You're the one who keeps me on the ground
Baby, you can be tough, say enough is enough
You can even be blunt just do it with love, love, love
Tell me I'm wrong, that I'm coming on way too strong
Don't think I'd be crushed just do it with love, love, love, love
Just do it with love, love, love, love
Just do it with love
I can take your honesty, all your words weigh heavily
Listening to you all the time
I wanna be there for you, the way you been there for me
Always help me walk the line
And slow me down, slow me down
I know you will always be around
Baby, you can be tough, say enough is enough
You can even be blunt just do it with love, love, love
Tell me I'm wrong, that I'm coming on way too strong
Don't think I'd be crushed just do it with love, love, love, love
All this time we finally know each other
Now that I've been leaning on your shoulder
I can tell you baby that you're right when you're right
You're wrong when you're wrong
And I can be weak 'cause I know you'll be strong!
Baby, you can be tough, say enough is enough
You can even be blunt just do it with love, love, love
Tell me I'm wrong, that I'm coming on way too strong
Don't think I'd be crushed just do it with love, love, love, love
Baby, you can be tough, say enough is enough
You can even be blunt just do it with love, love, love
Tell me I'm wrong, that I'm coming on way too strong
Don't think I'd be crushed just do it with love, love, love, love
Just do it with love, love, love, love
Just do it with love
Just do it with love, love, love, love
Just do it with love
Just do it with love
