The Windy Hill Preserve comprises an important 1132 acre (4.6km2) stretch of conservation land on the eastward side of the Peninsula Range (Santa Cruz Mountains), rising from the valley road near Portola Valley to the 1905ft (581 m) summit from which it gets its name. Access to the summit is easy (0.5 mile moderate grade) from State Route 35, the ridge road along the Peninsula Range. Facilities focus on trails for hiking and mountain biking, with around 14 miles (22km) of hiking trails. In clear weather there are magnificent views from the summit, and indeed the entire upper end of the park, across the campus of Stanford University to the San Francisco Bay and beyond to Mount Tamalpais and Mount Diablo. Downtown San Francisco is visible, as well as the Pacific Ocean.
An open space reserve (also called open space preserve, open space reservation, and green space) is an area of protected or conserved land or water on which development is indefinitely set aside.
The purpose of an open space reserve may include the preservation or conservation of a community or region's rural natural or historic character; the conservation or preservation of a land or water area for the sake of recreational, ecological, environmental, aesthetic, or agricultural interests; or the management of a community or region's growth in terms of development, industry, or natural resources extraction. Open space reserves may be urban, suburban, or rural; they may be actual designated areas of land or water, or they may be zoning districts or overlays where development is limited or controlled to create undeveloped areas of land or water within a community or region. They may be publicly owned or owned by non-profit or private interests.
In the 1880s, the Essendon Recreation Reserve became the primary multi-purpose grassed sports reserve in Essendon. The Essendon Cricket Club was the ground manager and primary tenant, and played its cricket matches there during the summer. The Essendon Bowls Club was granted permissive occupancy of the south-western corner of the reserve in 1886. The reserve also contained a bicycle track, and was used by the Essendon District Football Club, which was a junior club, for its home games during the winter. At this stage, the Essendon Football Club, which was playing top-level senior football in the Victorian Football Association, played only occasional games at the venue; its primary home ground was the East Melbourne Cricket Ground approximately six miles away.
The hill is located west of the A672 road and south west of Junction 22 on the M62 motorway. Windy Hill cutting is up to 120 feet deep and the longest on the M62. A pedestrian footbridge, 320 feet long and 65 feet above the carriageways, carries the Pennine Way above Windy Hill cutting. Its parabolic arch and splayed legs are designed to withstand wind speeds up to 120 mph. Snow lies on Windy Hill for an average of 35 days annually and the area is prone to fog or low cloud. The boundary stone between Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire is in the cutting. The Longden End Brook rises between the hill and the motorway and the Piethorne Brook drains to reservoirs to the southwest.
A radio transmitter is located to the east.

When high school friends Stepa J. Groggs, Ritchie With a T, and producer Parker Corey first got together to make music, their recording conditions were less than ideal. With each member being far away from each other in crowded homes, they took over a storage room of Parker's uncle's dentist office. Over time they took over the lobby, and eventually, got their own space to work in. The music they made there won critical acclaim and they continued to build their rep withthe Floss LP, released last year as well as their hard-banging new project, Drive It Like It's Stolen which dropped last week.
Injury Reserve reveals that they don't believe in "guilty pleasures" and instead will attempt to frame anything they like or enjoy as a good thing. They used viral Youtube kid Bhad Bhabie as an example saying "I fuck with her and I know she's really bout her shit, cause she's just this little crazy white girl and she's said the n-word zero times. So, I'm like roger that, let's go. Go getcho paper."

We decided to out our money together and it improved our marriage ... Courtesy LouisaRogers ... It took several discussions, but the pivotal one came about while we were walking in WindyHill, an open space preserve in the green belt above Palo Alto ... ....
WindyHillPark will be a passive recreational park, meaning open space and multi-purpose trails will be the predominate features, with other uses being small picnic facilities, a gazebo, and a playground.
