WICHITA, Kan. (April 7) – Mitchell Russell scored at 3:53 of overtime to complete an incredible comeback on Sunday afternoon, knocking off Tulsa, 3-2, at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Trailing by one with less than a minute in regulation, Jay Dickman tied the game and forced overtime. Nick Nardella tallied the other Thunder goal. Trevor Gorsuch was outstanding again, stopping 34 shots.
Wichita opened the scoring late in the first period. Nardella made it 1-0 at 17:48. Kobe Walker found him in the slot and he fired a one-timer past Julian Junca.
After a scoreless second, Tulsa tied the game at 3:30 of the third. Duggie Lagrone won a board battle behind the Thunder goal line. Kyle Crnkovic found Michael Farren at the edge of the left circle and he beat Gorsuch over the shoulder.

WICHITA, Kan. (Mar. 2) – Wichita returned home on Saturday night, losing 8-4 to Allen at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The Americans scored five times in the first period and never looked back.
Michal Stinil had three points to lead the way for the Thunder. Brayden Watts and Dillon Boucher had a goal and an assist.
Bennett MacArthur scored one minute into the first period to start the onslaught. Allen created a turnover near its own blueline, came back through the neutral zone on a three-on-two and MacArthur buried a shot past Trevor Gorsuch.
He recorded his second at 8:55 on the power play. Colby McAuley fired a shot from the right circle that tipped off of MacArthur's stick and it got past Gorsuch to make it 2-0.

WICHITA, Kan. (Mar. 8) – Wichita scored three goals in a five-minute span in the third period and held off a late charge by Iowa on Friday night, winning 4-3 at INTRUST Bank Arena in front of a season-high 10,651 fans.
Brayden Watts had three points to lead the way for the Thunder. Trevor Gorsuch made 35 saves to claim the victory.
Iowa got on the board first with less than three minutes to go in the opening period. Evan Boucher was taken off the puck in the slot, but two Thunder players ran into each other. Kevin McKernan was johnny-on-the-spot and fired a shot past Gorsuch to make it 1-0.

WICHITA, Kan. (Feb. 2) – Wichita returned home on Friday to start a three-game series against Kansas City, losing 4-2 at INTRUST Bank Arena in front of 9,036.
Mitchell Russell recorded his first professional goal in the losing effort. Jack LaFontaine was terrific for Kansas City, stopping 45 shots.
The first period was quite eventful as the two teams combined for 38 penalty minutes and three separate altercations that resulted in a fight.
Nolan Walker was awarded a penalty shot at 18:02 when he was taken down near the edge of the right circle. Trevor Gorsuch came up big, making a stick save to prevent the goal.

RAPID CITY, SD (April 13) – Wichita closed the regular season on Saturday night, losing to Rapid City, 3-2, at The Monument.
Michal Stinil had two points while Jay Dickman collected his 29th of the year. Beck Warm was solid in the losing effort, stopping 28 shots. He stopped two third-period breakaways to give Wichita a chance down the stretch.
After a scoreless first period, Stinil broke the ice midway through the second. Dickman stole a puck in the right corner and curled near the end boards. The puck was swatted into the slot and Stinil fired a one-timer past Matt Radomsky to make it 1-0.
The Rush tied it three minutes later when Keanu Yamamoto took a pass off a faceoff and beat Warm from a sharp angle for his 19th of the season.

WICHITA, Kan. (Jan. 14) – Wichita closed a three-in-three on Sunday afternoon, knocking off Utah, 6-3, at INTRUST Bank Arena.
Michal Stinil led the way, tallying his second-career hat trick and also added an assist. Jay Dickman, Quinn Preston, Ryan Finnegan and Shane Kuzmeski each had two points. Beck Warm earned the win, stopping 42 shots.
Stinil got things started just three minutes into the game. Finnegan made a beautiful pass near the top of the crease and he made it 1-0.

The Heartlanders nearly tied it when Evan Boucher found a loose puck at the top of the crease and he tried to fire it towards the net. Gorsuch somehow made a leg-pad save while he was laying on the ice with 40 seconds to go in the contest.
Wichita held off the Iowa charge down the stretch and claimed a 4-3 win.

WICHITA, Kan. (Mar. 8) – Wichita scored three goals in a five-minute span in the third period and held off a late charge by Iowa on Friday night, winning 4-3 at INTRUST Bank Arena in front of a season-high 10,651 fans.
Brayden Watts had three points to lead the way for the Thunder. Trevor Gorsuch made 35 saves to claim the victory.
Iowa got on the board first with less than three minutes to go in the opening period. Evan Boucher was taken off the puck in the slot, but two Thunder players ran into each other. Kevin McKernan was johnny-on-the-spot and fired a shot past Gorsuch to make it 1-0.
In the second, McKernan recorded his second of the game at 2:26. Evan Boucher came around the Thunder net and fired a shot off Gorsuch. McKernan put home the rebound for his third of the year to make it 2-0.
Wichita scored the next four to grab a 4-2 lead. With less than a minute to go in the second, Jeremy Masella caught a pass from Watts at the left circle and fired a shot past Hunter Jones to make it 2-1.
At 2:33 of the third, Lleyton Moore tied the game at two. Michal Stinil came in off the rush and fired a shot from the right circle. Jones kicked out a long rebound and Moore fired it past him for his fifth of the season.
Wichita took its first lead just 29 seconds later. Ryan Finnegan found Watts in the slot and he put a shot past Jones for his 10th of the year to make it 3-2.
Bradley Marek increased the lead to 4-2 at 7:20. Jay Dickman came around the Iowa net and found Marek near the top of the crease. He beat Jones for his ninth of the season on the power play.
Kyle Masters cut the lead to 4-3 at 17:24. Casey Dornbach found him at the left circle. Masters carried it across the crease and fired a shot off the post. He popped his own rebound past Gorsuch for his third of the year.
Jones was lifted for the extra attacker with less than two minutes to go in the game. The Heartlanders nearly tied it when Evan Boucher found a loose puck at the top of the crease and he tried to fire it towards the net. Gorsuch somehow made a leg-pad save while he was laying on the ice with 40 seconds to go in the contest.
Wichita held off the Iowa charge down the stretch and claimed a 4-3 win.
The Thunder went 1-for-4 on the power play. The Heartlanders were 0-for-1 on the man advantage.

Mitchell Russell recorded his first professional goal in the losing effort. Jack LaFontaine was terrific for Kansas City, stopping 45 shots.
The first period was quite eventful as the two teams combined for 38 penalty minutes and three separate altercations that resulted in a fight.
Nolan Walker was awarded a penalty shot at 18:02 when he was taken down near the edge of the right circle. Trevor Gorsuch came up big, making a stick save to prevent the goal.
Kansas City opened the scoring just 1:47 into the second. Jake Jaremko spun a backhand near the net that redirected off a Thunder defenseman's stick past Gorsuch to make it 1-0.
Kelly Bent tied it less than three minutes later. He pounced on a rebound off a shot from Quinn Preston and beat LaFontaine for his fourth of the year
The Mavericks answered quickly and re-took the lead. David Cotton found a loose puck in the crease after Gorsuch couldn't hold onto a shot from Jacob Hayhurst and made it 2-1.
At the 11-minute mark, Russell wired a shot past LaFontaine from the right circle and tied it at two.

Michal Stinil had two points while Jay Dickman collected his 29th of the year. Beck Warm was solid in the losing effort, stopping 28 shots. He stopped two third-period breakaways to give Wichita a chance down the stretch.
After a scoreless first period, Stinil broke the ice midway through the second. Dickman stole a puck in the right corner and curled near the end boards. The puck was swatted into the slot and Stinil fired a one-timer past Matt Radomsky to make it 1-0.
The Rush tied it three minutes later when Keanu Yamamoto took a pass off a faceoff and beat Warm from a sharp angle for his 19th of the season.
At 18:03, Maurizio Colella gave Rapid City a 2-1 advantage. Brett Gravelle took a shot from the slot that hit off Warm's leg pad. Colella got to the rebound and put it in for his 12th of the year.
In the third, Wichita pulled Warm with two minutes to go and called its timeout. Blake Bennett blocked a pass near the Rush blueline and scored into an empty net to make it 3-1.

Michal Stinil led the way, tallying his second-career hat trick and also added an assist. Jay Dickman, Quinn Preston, Ryan Finnegan and Shane Kuzmeski each had two points. Beck Warm earned the win, stopping 42 shots.
Stinil got things started just three minutes into the game. Finnegan made a beautiful pass near the top of the crease and he made it 1-0.
Nick Nardella recorded his first of the season at 10:41. Finnegan made another outstanding play near the crease and Nardella beat Dante Giannuzii to make it 2-0.
Early in the second, Jay Dickman increased the lead to 3-0. Kuzmeski created a turnover at the left circle, fed it across to Dickman in the slot and he fired it home for his 16th of the year.
Utah recorded back-to-back goals in the frame and cut the lead to one. Brandon Cutler made it 3-1 at 5:15 when he came down the left wing and fired a wrist shot past Warm.
At 14:15, Quinn Wichers went coast-to-coast and beat Warm with a knuckler to make it 3-2.
Stinil re-gained a two-goal advantage at 16:24. Preston won a face-off to the left of Giannuzzi and Stinil hammered a one-timer past him for his second of the game.
Preston made it 5-2 at 8:49 of the third. He entered down the left wing and lifted a shot past Giannuzzi from in-close for his first of the season.
