These guest appearances earned him a media buzz and he kept attention with the hit single "Whoa!". Following this, the album Life Story was released in 1999 and rose above Platinum sales. Despite subsequently appearing on releases by P. Diddy and G. Dep, he did not make another hit single: his second album, The Black Rob Report failed to perform as strongly as his debut and quickly disappeared from the Billboard 100 charts. In his earlier years Black Rob headed the street rap team which he named "Alumni". In 2005 Jemal Mosley from Off The Block Entertainment started managing Black Rob's career. In 2010 he parted from Bad Boy, and signed to independent label Duck Down Records. As of 2010 he was working on a new album titled Game Tested, Streets Approved due to be released the following year.
"Whoa!" was the lead single released from Black Rob's debut album, Life Story. The song was produced by Diggin' in the Crates Crew member Buckwild. Released in early 2000, "Whoa!" became Black Rob's biggest hit. It narrowly missed the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 43, and reached the top 10 on both the R&B and Rap charts. To date, it remains Rob's only solo single to have reached the Hot 100.
Directed by Jeff Richter, the video features Rob alongside P. Diddy and a bunch of people near a New York street. It then shows Rob entering a strip club complete with television screens and strippers dancing as he's partying with the people around him. Midway through, Rob gets a call from P. Diddy telling him that he's bringing in the truck, with Rob replying to pull up near the fire escape. As P. Diddy is driving he turns up the radio volume to listen to the aforementioned song, unaware that he's driving up to a one-way street. He panics as he tries to turn the truck away from incoming cars, spinning it around as it almost hits a man carrying groceries (with both him and P. Diddy saying the aforementioned title in response to what happened). The truck ends up under the fire escape where Rob is waiting as he jumps onto the flatbed with fireworks exploding from it. The truck continues to drive along the streets with both Rob and P. Diddy on the flatbed. Intercut are scenes of Rob near a brick background and driving various vehicles at high speed along with his friends.

About Bad Boy Entertainment:
In 1993, Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, also known as Diddy, launched Bad Boy Records. Nobody could have
imagined the impact the label would have on pop culture. As a subsidiary of the larger Bad Boy
Entertainment, the label became best known for its signature sound of streetwise hip-hop soul and the
ghetto fabulousness that radiated like precious jewels from its very name. Bad Boy was designed for
those who aspired higher, but also wanted to party until the break of dawn. Puffy had seen life from
both sides of the class divide and, with his groove-heavy music, worked hard to merge the two. There is
no better visual embodiment of this merger than the groundbreaking videos that were in heavy rotation
on BET and MTV and now on YouTube.
The Bad Boy Entertainment channel is the official YouTube home of iconic music videos from Puff
Daddy, Craig Mack, Faith Evans, 112, Total, Mase, Yung Joc, Cassie, Danity Kane, and the rest of the Bad
Boy Family, and your destination for some of the biggest 90s and 00s hip-hop hits of all time like Craig
Mack’s “Flava In Your Ear (Remix)”, the Notorious B.I.G. tribute “I’ll Be Missing You” by Puff Daddy feat.

DJ Self reported on his instagram that Former Bad Boy artist Black Rob past away today in an Atlanta Hospital at 51!After a rough week since the passing of famed rapper DMX, the hip hop community is now mourning the loss of another star. According to close friends such as Mario Winans who posted about his passing on IG, Black Rob has sadly passed away.
Last week, video surfaced of Rob in a hospital bed. That caught many fans off-guard considering that we hadn’t heard from or seen him for quite sometime. While there, he shared his condolences to X. “I feel everything about X,” he said in the clip that DJ Self posted. “X was positive. Love to X.”
In the days that came afterward, Rob would reveal that he was also homeless and battling health issues including kidney failure, which DJ Self confirmed. “Oh man, I’ve been dealing with this for five years. Four strokes … I don’t know what to tell you man. Shit is crazy. The shit is hard,” he admitted. “I don’t got no house to live in — except maybe an apartment. Me and my man be trying to get together. I’m telling you man, this shit is strange. It’s hard, you know what I’m saying?”

Diddy reached out to help Rob anyway he could — and did just that — which another former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry admitted on social media. “And you are reaching out, and you’re trying to help,” Curry said about Puff’s assistance. “We not going to say he’s not — Puffy is really trying to help.” As a former recording artist on Bad Boy Records, Puff wanted to make sure that Rob was taken care of in the best way possible.
According to HealthLine.com, kidney failure occurs when your kidneys loss the ability to effectively filter waste out of a person’s blood, which then causes the person to have excess toxics backed up in their body that can negatively affect their health and ultimately be life-threatening.
The early stages of kidney disease often have little to no symptoms for the person who has it, which is why it’s called the “silent disease,” and many realize they have it when it’s too late and their kidneys have been damaged to the most severe point.
Rest in peace, Black Rob.

Faith Evans and 112, and Cassie – “Me & U”.

Bad Boy Ceo Sean " Diddy Combs Finally Speaks on The Death of his former Artist Black Rob.Black Rob has reportedly died after dealing with health issues.#pdiddy #24hourstolive. #blackrobpassedaway
News of the former Bad Boy rapper's passing first started to circulate on Saturday (April 17) after DJ Self reported the sad information on Instagram. "Lord knows i tried to get help ...... I’m sad to say RIP to Black Rob ..... Passed away in the hospital in Atlanta," Self, who released a video of Rob in the hospital last week, captioned the black and white photo of Rob, along with his birth and death year. According to TMZ, Rob was 51 at the time of his death. Black Rob, was an American rapper who was signed to Bad Boy. He was best known for his hit single "Whoa!", Ross grew up in East Harlem and began rapping between the ages of 11 and 12. He was inspired by the artists he listened to regularly, including Spoonie Gee, Doug E. Fresh, and Slick Rick. When he was 22, he joined his first rap group, the Schizophrenics, though they did not release any albums. He initially rapped under the alias "Bacardi Rob". He began associating with the Bad Boy label as early as 1996, appearing on the Bad Boy remix to 112's "Come See Me". He was then featured on several Bad Boy releases, including remixes to Total's "What About Us" (1997) and Faith Evans's "Love Like This" (1998), the song "24 Hrs. to Live" (1997) from Mase, and albums by Puff Daddy & the Bad Boy Family (1997) and The Notorious B.I.G. (1999). He also made two appearances on Cru's 1997 album Da Dirty 30, as well as albums by Ol Dirty Bastard, Channel Live, The Madd Rapper, Benzino, Tony Touch, and others. These guest appearances earned him media buzz.
In his earlier years, Black Rob headed the street rap team which he named "Alumni". His debut album Life Story [6] was released in 1999 and rose above platinum sales. In early 2000, he released the hit single "Whoa!". Produced by Diggin' in the Crates Crew member Buckwild, "Whoa!" became his biggest hit. The song peaked at number on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached the top 10 on both the R&B/Hip-Hop[7] and Rap[8] charts. To date, it remains Rob's only solo single to have reached the Hot 100. Despite subsequently appearing on releases by P. Diddy and G. Dep, he did not make another hit single. His second album, The Black Rob Report failed to perform as strongly as his debut and quickly fell off the Billboard 100 charts. In 2005, Jemal Mosley from Off The Block Entertainment started managing Black Rob's career. In 2010, he parted from Bad Boy and signed to independent label Duck Down Records.[9] In 2011, he released Game Tested, Streets Approved, which peaked at number 44 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Black Rob also started his own independent label, Box and One, with Jemal Mosley.
