The White River originates at White Pass, the pass separating the White River headwaters from the headwaters of the North Fork Sauk River, and flows east until its confluence with Thunder Creek. From there the river flows southeast all the way to its mouth at the far end of Lake Wenatchee. About halfway from Thunder Creek to its mouth, the river drops over impressive White River Falls and shortly below that, receives the waters of the remote Napeequa River.
The White River is an intermittent stream in the South Plains of Texas and a tributary of the Brazos River of the United States. It rises 8 miles (13km) west of Floydada in southwestern Floyd County at the confluence of Callahan and Runningwater Draws. From there, it runs southeast for 62 miles (100km) to its mouth on the Salt Fork of the Brazos River in northwestern Kent County. Besides these two headwaters, which rise near Hale Center and in Curry County, New Mexico, respectively, other tributaries include Pete, Crawfish, and Davidson Creeks. The White River drains an area of 1,690sqmi (4,377km2).
South of the canyon, in far southeastern Crosby County, it was dammed in 1963 to create a lake, the White River Reservoir, which provides water for the towns of Post, Spur, Crosbyton, and Ralls.

The Ontario silver mine is a mine near Park City, Utah. It was purchased by George Hearst through R C Chambers from prospectors for $27,000 in 1872.
Hearst and his business partners James Ben Ali Haggin and Lloyd Tevis owned this mine and constructed the necessary infrastructure to make it productive, including hoists and stamp mill. The mine was not profitable for its first three years. According to legend, expenses of development substantially drained Hearst's financial resources. As a result of his straitened circumstances, Hearst sold his home and horses, and even dismissed his servants and enrolled his son William Randolph Hearst in public school. Chambers, who had been retained as manager, brought the bonanza ore body into production by the late 1870s. It eventually produced fifty million dollars worth of silver and lead.
By the time of Hearst's death in 1891, the Ontario mine had paid him more than $12 million in dividends. This was only one of the four big mines he had brought in in the West, including the Ophir on the Comstock Lode, the Homestake Mine (Nevada), and the Anaconda Copper Mine (Montana). The mine also made manager Chambers one of Utah's Bonanza Kings.

Ontario's Forgotten River - Documentary | Is It Still Worth Paddling the White River?
The White River was once touted as the top ten rivers to paddle in Ontario. Endless rapids, deep canyons, and stunning falls were all features of this rugged river. But this river hasn't been immune to changes, changes that have altered this waterway forever. Get a perspective of this once mighty river when in 2020, a friend and I were the first paddlers to canoe the entire length of the river from it's headwaters to its mouth, once it was re-opened back to the public after being closed for over a decade. This is the full documentary of the trip in the summer of 2020. For those interested in canoeing this river, this feature will provide insight into what you'll experience and allow you to decide whether the White River is still worth paddling. A Tour Of White River Air's South Garnham Outpost Camp
A detailed tour of White River Air's spectacularly nice remote outpost camp located on Garnham Lake.
Located in the heart of Ontario's Algoma region and only accessible by air, this lake and camp are among the very nicest I have encountered in this area.
The lake itself harbors surprising numbers of huge pike, although typically they are more easily caught early in the season when they're stacked in the back bays. Large numbers of walleyes are a certainty at any time of the year.
The camp itself is a recent build and comes equipped with electric lighting as well as a three piece bathroom with a flush toilet, a rarity for a remote outpost!

Northern Ontario's Best Kept Secret - The Little White River - Whitewater Canoeing Paradise
The Little White River, in Algoma, ON is a lesser known waterway, whose origins are hidden north of Elliot Lake. It is a major tributary of the Mississagi River, but relatively few paddlers journey this river each year.
.
It's only truly navigable in high water, so spring is the best time to make the trip down the Little White. With a rainy May/June of 2024, we journey the river in early June and find the waters to be at a perfect level for running all of the rapids you could ask for.
.
At only approximately 75km in total length, it's a relatively short and narrow river, but with so much scenery and exhilarating whitewater! It's hard to believe that, given its proximity to paved roadways and the towns of Elliot Lake and Iron Bridge, it doesn't see a deluge of paddlers every year. We were...

We experience the towering cliffs of 300' with awe and gratitude. The wildlife is almost non-stop. A couple of impressive waterfalls punctuate the river's course, giving us time to pause and reflect on the beauty of our region, and the natural world in general.

The White River was once touted as the top ten rivers to paddle in Ontario. Endless rapids, deep canyons, and stunning falls were all features of this rugged river. But this river hasn't been immune to changes, changes that have altered this waterway forever. Get a brief glimpse of this once mighty river when in 2020, a friend and I were the first paddlers to canoe the entire length of the river from it's headwaters to its mouth, once it was re-opened back to the public after being closed for over a decade.

This video was made for those who are taking their first fishing trip with White River Air. It discusses tackle, presentation, where to find walleye and how to catch them.
WAKE UP Wake up, here comes today Crystal clear thoughts in place Ready for the world and its cold charm Blindness, wandering Can never wash our fear into Hazy borders of confusion Watch as we walk straight ahead Kings of our kingdom White river Don't limit me forever to your course River rages on Sometimes pulling us Holding us so tight It seems only natural to follow But break away The walls that stand in our way Hazy borders forever we banish Controlling our destiny now Kings of our kingdom White river Don't limit me forever to your course Forseen lifting the weight like feathers or paper And place them strategically into words If I can't see results till it crashes down on me
