Against Me! is an American punk rock band formed in Gainesville, Florida, United States, in 1997 by singer and guitarist Laura Jane Grace. Since 2001, the band's lineup has also included guitarist James Bowman. After releasing three studio albums through independent record labels, Against Me! moved to Sire Records for 2007's New Wave, which reached no. 57 on the Billboard 200. Their fifth album, 2010's White Crosses, was their most successful, reaching no. 34. In 2011 the band launched their own record label, Total Treble Music, through which they plan to release future albums. In 2012 Grace publicly came out as transgender, beginning a transition to living as a woman and dropping her birth name. The band finished recording their sixth studio album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, during the summer of 2013, and released it on the twenty-first of January, 2014.
Against Me!, also known as The Acoustic EP, is the second widely distributed release by the punk band Against Me!. No tracks on the album contain any electricinstruments or drums, only acoustic guitars and an acoustic bass. The original vinyl version, released November 2001, had four tracks, and two extra songs were included on the CD version released in February 2003. Electric versions of several songs appeared on the band's debut full-length Against Me! Is Reinventing Axl Rose.
This EP was never officially titled. The words "Acoustic EP" do not appear anywhere on the album or in the liner notes. In a manner similar to that of The Beatles's White Album, it is technically self-titled, but is nearly always referred to as The Acoustic EP, including on the band's official website.
On this recording, Against Me! is Laura Jane Grace and Dustin Fridkin.
Against Me!, more commonly known as Tom's Demo Tape, or simply the First Demo, is a demo album and the first release by Laura Jane Grace under the name Against Me! in June 1997. Physical copies of the tape are extremely rare; (likely non- existant at this point), however, all 6 tracks can easily be found circulating on YouTube.
All lyrics and music written and composed by Laura Jane Grace.

Music video
The music video features war as a sport involving two teams of soldiers fighting on a football field. Cheerleaders celebrate the violence as the fat cat politician screams for more violence. A lone protester, whose sickly appearance reflects his weak voice in society, is in the same stadium screaming at the events taking place.
Against Me!, the self-titled 12" EP by punk band Against Me! was their first real release. There were originally 500 copies of the record printed. However, due to a mastering defect on the vinyl, only 145 copies were originally released to the public, 50 of which were sold at the record release party. Thus, actual copies of the record are extremely rare, though the tracks are widely circulated on the internet. The remaining 355 copies were eventually released through personal sales by the band.

Against Me! - White People For Peace (Live at Reading 2015)
"White People For Peace"
East and West could not agree
So their generals gave a call and gathered troops at the border
With guns ready, drawn and aimed
each side was praying to a God
to bless them with strength and courage
it was in His name that artillery lit the sky on fire
the people sang protest songs to try and stop the soldier's gun
Protest Songs in a response to Military Aggression
Protest songs to try and stop the soldier's gun
But the battle raged on...
Sirens filled the air and the ground shook with war
Civilian casualties has been a cost that was predetermined
when interviewed for report victims pleaded in frustration
Their claim: That this was a war without reason
Bureaucrats engaged in debate to try and reach a resolution
the people sang protest songs to try and stop the so...

Mind game after mind game for the head-trip after all the shit. One step in advancement, numb to everything. Searching for the result, striving for resolution, offering no solution just more dogma for confusion. Fill you full of promise with your back against the wall; interpret a hopeless freedom where chains liberate the soul. Answers to silent questions from the idols of the dark. First present solution then we'll see about tearing down the walls... Health all alone you find there's nothing left to fear, with the one exception of the message they conceal. Face placed on the master you find the mirror brings disgust. From the confines of this entrapment you can justify anger as lust. Blatant disregard to the feelings within, selling your own soul condescending nature flowing within. You can hate the system search for bricks to smash the state, but what's the point of revolution when no one can relate? For the finger falls one person short, the crosshairs turned around and you cry war. First present solution then we'll see about tearing down the walls...
