The Boomtown Rats are an Irish new wave band that had a series of Irish and UK hits between 1977 and 1985. The group is led by vocalist Bob Geldof. The other members of the original line-up were Garry Roberts (lead guitar), Johnnie Fingers (keyboard), Pete Briquette (bass), Gerry Cott (guitar) and Simon Crowe (drums). The Boomtown Rats broke up in 1986, but reformed in 2013, without Johnnie Fingers or Gerry Cott.
All six members originate from Dún Laoghaire, Ireland. Having been booked for their first gig under the name "The Nightlife Thugs," the group agreed on the name change, when Garry Roberts threatened to resign if they were called that, to the "Boomtown Rats" after a gang of children that Geldof had read about in Woody Guthrie's autobiography, Bound for Glory . They became a notable band, but one whose accomplishments were overshadowed by the charity work of frontman Bob Geldof, a former journalist with the New Musical Express.
The group moved to London and signed with Ensign Records in 1976. Their first single, "Lookin' After No. 1", came out in August 1977. It reached the Top 40 of the UK Singles Chart, the first of a long string of successes. When the Night (Original Italian: Quando la notte) is a 2011 Italian drama film directed by Cristina Comencini, and based upon Comencini's novel of the same title.
Marina (Claudia Pandolfi) is a young woman attempting to be a good mother to her two-year-old son. She decides to spend the summer in the mountains, in the hope that the change will improve her child's sleeping habits. She rents an apartment from Manfred (Filippo Timi), a man who is distrustful of women. The two generally avoid each other until an unfortunate event of the boy having a fall forces them together. Fifteen years later, Marina returns to the mountain to find Manfred to rekindle the desire she had felt, but upon which she had not acted.
The film project was announced at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2010, casting was performed in June 2010, and pre-production began in July 2010. Filming began on 23 August 2010, at locations in Macugnaga, a mountain village in the very northern part of the Piedmont region in Italy. Certain scenes shot on the slopes of Monte Rosa, were filmed at high altitude and during -30 degree snowstorms. The project completed filming and entered post production in May 2011.
When the Night is the debut studio album by New York City-based musician St. Lucia. It was released on October 8, 2013 through Neon Gold Records and Columbia Records. The album has charted in the United States.
The original version of "Call Me Up" was recorded in the bathroom of a Tommy Bahama in Florida. Grobler explained during a performance in Boston that he was self-conscious about the way the words sounded in the song, "They always sound kind of mumbly." However, he said that he "realized it's a tender love song in a way, and that I wanted the lyrics to feel that way because it almost feels like when you’re whispering words into your lover's ear or something."
In December 2012, a music video for "September" was released. It was directed by Francis.
A music video for "Elevate", directed by NORTON, was released on September 19, 2013.
All songs written and composed by Jean-Philip Grobler, except where noted.
Red Rose Speedway is the second album by Paul McCartney and Wings, and the fourth by Paul McCartney since leaving the Beatles. The album was released in 1973 after the relatively weak commercial performance of McCartney's previous, Wild Life, which had been credited to the then-unknown Wings. Red Rose Speedway reached number 1 on the Billboard 200. "My Love" was a number one single and the most successful track from the album.
In early 1972, McCartney decided to expand Wings to a five-piece band, by adding another guitarist, and to begin touring with the group. The group spent many months on the road across Europe, beginning with a tour of British universities.
Despite not releasing an album in 1972, Wings managed to release three singles: "Give Ireland Back to the Irish" which was banned by the BBC for political reasons; "Mary Had a Little Lamb"; and "Hi, Hi, Hi", which was banned by the BBC for drug references and sexually suggestive lyrics.
Recording for Red Rose Speedway began in March 1972. It was initially planned as a double album, and McCartney decided to include some unreleased songs that had originally been recorded during the Ram sessions prior to the formation of Wings. Two of those songs, "Get on the Right Thing" and "Little Lamb Dragonfly", appeared on the final album. Beginning on 19 March, sessions were held at Olympic Studios in London, after which recording continued sporadically throughout the year.Glyn Johns was invited to produce the Olympic sessions, but after a series of disagreements with McCartney, he quit the project on 17 April, saying: "Now we have respect for each other." More recording took place over October and November 1972 at Abbey Road Studios and Olympic.Morgan, Trident and Island were the other London studios where the band recorded that year.

Ben E. King performing Stand By Me, from the album Don't Play That Song! "Stand by Me" is a song originally performed in 1961 by American singer-songwriter Ben E. King and written by him, along with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, who together used the pseudonym Elmo Glick. According to King, the title is derived from, and was inspired by, a spiritual written by Sam Cooke and J. W. Alexander called "Stand by Me Father," recorded by the Soul Stirrers with Johnnie Taylor singing lead. In 1960, Ben E. King was inspired to update the early 20th-century gospel hymn "Stand by Me" by Charles Albert Tindley, which was based on Psalm 46, "will not we fear, though the Earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea." According to the documentary History of Rock 'n' R...

Where the coolcats hang around
Down at the mouse trap
Fangs were getting hot
Squealing with delight
Their legs began to hop
They're doin' the rat
Keep your trap shut
Do the rat
Be a cool cat
Do the rat
Well hold on to your hat

Wrap your tail around your partner
