4 Fall things to do in Western New York State // Fall colors near Buffalo
While traveling to Western New York state to visit family we lucked out on our timing and the
New York state fall colors were peaking! We decided to check out some New York scenic drives, pumpkin patches, maple farms, and the areas for the best fall colors near Buffalo.
While staying in Olean NY, we were able to explore the nearby Allegheny State Park, Kinzua Bridge State park (PA), Pumpkinville pumpkin patch, and Spragues Maple Farm. We really lucked out with Peak Colors in New York State, which can be so hard to plan.
You Don't have to head to the Adirondacks for great fall foliage, there are some hidden gems that you can easily visit on a day trip from Buffalo NY.

Historic Storm Burying Western New York
At least 77 inches of snow was reported in the Buffalo Bill’s home of Orchard Park alone, with an estimated 66 inches in just 24 hours marking a New York state all-time record. New York’s governor is surveying the damage saying about 280 people had to be rescued, with the National Guard helping get people to dialysis appointments. Tonight, nine million people across six states remain under winter weather alerts.

Home to cities like Binghamton and Jamestown and such tourist destinations as the corning museum of glass and the national comedy center, the southern tier is well worth exploring. Deadly snowstorm pummels western New York
Several feet of snow were expected to fall in multiple states due to a massive lake-effect storm moving from the Great Lakes to the Northeast. The storm is being blamed for at least two deaths in upstate New York. Tanya Rivera is in Buffalo with more.
