The "Forgotten" Kingdom of Germany (illustrated History)
The Kingdom of Germany (mostly known as “Eastern Francia” was a short-lived German State that existed centuries before the German Empire, until it was part of the HRE and slowly became more and more Split and decentralized. While not 100% under the control of a singular ruler, it was the closest thing to a “united German state”.Obviously I had to simplify a lot of it for the sake of watchTime.

Exploring the Rise of the West Francia Kingdom
The Kingdom of West Francia, a pivotal realm in the tapestry of medieval European history, emerged during the 9th century as a successor to the expansive Carolingian Empire. Carved out from the remnants of Charlemagne's once-vast domain, West Francia, also known as the Kingdom of the West Franks, represented a crucial chapter in the complex narrative of political fragmentation during the medieval period.
Established after the Treaty of Verdun in 843, West Francia was bestowed upon Charles the Bald, one of Charlemagne's grandsons. This kingdom, encompassing a significant portion of what is now modern-day France, quickly became a focal point of political, social, and cultural developments in the region.
The reign of West Francia witnessed both internal struggles for power and external thre...

Europe's Longest War: The Battle for the Ghost Kingdom that Decided the Fate of a Continent
Lotharingia is possibly the most important kingdom to ever exist that you’ve possibly never heard of! When the Carolingian empire broke up in the early 800s, it was divided into three parts: East Francia, Middle Francia, and West Francia. Two of those, West and East Francia, eventually became the modern states of Germany and France. Middle Francia eventually became the short lived kingdom of Lotharingia—the Kingdom of Lothar. For two centuries the loyalties of Lotharingia flipped back and forth between East and West Francia, and in a sense, the fighting never stopped.
Much of the history of Europe can be looked as attempts to put the Roman Empire back together again, and the Carolingian empire of the Franks was a serious attempt. But it failed. From one view, the fighting it unleashed co...

The reign of West Francia witnessed both internal struggles for power and external threats from Viking invasions and other neighboring entities. The Capetian Dynasty, which came to prominence in the 10th century, played a vital role in stabilizing the kingdom and laying the groundwork for the future Kingdom of France.
The cultural landscape of West Francia was characterized by a fusion of Carolingian and regional influences, contributing to the formation of a distinct medieval French identity. The rise of medieval towns, the evolution of feudal structures, and the intertwining of church and state were prominent features of this era.
Over time, the Kingdom of West Francia set the stage for the development of the French monarchy and the consolidation of the territories that would eventually become modern France. The struggles, triumphs, and transformations within its borders reverberate through the corridors of history, leaving an indelible mark on the legacy of medieval Europe.
Exploring the Kingdom of West Francia opens a window into the intricate dynamics of medieval governance, the resilience of emerging nations, and the enduring legacy that laid the foundation for the rich tapestry of European history.

East Francia vs Holy Roman Empire vs German Empire vs Nazi Germany vs Germany - Country Timeline Comparison: On The Basis Of Founders, Area, Military Strength, Military History, Currency, Trade, GDP, etc.
East Francia:
East Francia or the Kingdom of the East Franks was a successor state of Charlemagne's empire ruled by the Carolingian dynasty until 911. It was created through the Treaty of Verdun (843) which divided the former empire into three kingdoms. The east–west division with the Treaty of Verdun in 843, enforced by the Germanic-Latin language split, "gradually hardened into the establishment of separate kingdoms", with East Francia becoming the Kingdom of Germany and West Francia becoming the Kingdom of France.
Holy Roman Empire:
The Holy Roman Empire was a multi-ethnic complex of territories in Western, Central and Southern Europe that developed during the Early Middle Ages and continued until its dissolution in 1806 during the Napoleonic Wars. The empire was created by joining in personal union and with the imperial title the crown of the Kingdom of Italy with the Frankish crown, particularly the Kingdom of East Francia, as well as titles of other smaller territories. Soon these kingdoms would be joined by the Kingdom of Burgundy and Kingdom of Bohemia. By the end of the 15th century the empire was still in theory composed of three major blocks – Italy, Germany and Burgundy. Later territorially only the Kingdom of Germany and Bohemia remained, with the Burgundian territories lost to France. Barring the loss of Franche-Comté in 1678, the external borders of the Empire did not change noticeably from the Peace of Westphalia – which acknowledged the exclusion of Switzerland and the Northern Netherlands, and the French protectorate over Alsace – to the dissolution of the Empire. At the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815, most of the Holy Roman Empire was included in the German Confederation, with the main exceptions being the Italian state.
German Empire:
The German Empire or the Imperial State of Germany, was the period of the German Reich from the unification of Germany in 1871 until the November Revolution in 1918, when the German Reich changed its form of government from a monarchy to a republic. It was founded on 18 January 1871 when the south German states, except for Austria, joined the North German Confederation and the new constitution came into force on April 16, changing the name of the federal state to the German Empire and introducing the title of German Emperor for Wilhelm I, King of Prussia from the House of Hohenzollern. Berlin remained its capital, and Otto von Bismarck, Minister-President of Prussia, became Chancellor, the head of government and the German colonial empire constituted the overseas colonies, dependencies and territories of Imperial Germany. The German Colonial Empire encompassed parts of several African countries, including parts of present-day Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Namibia, Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Central African Republic, Chad, Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, New Guinea, and numerous other West Pacific / Micronesian islands.
Nazi Germany:
Nazi Germany, officially known as the German Reich from 1933 until 1943, and the Greater German Reich from 1943 to 1945, was the German state between 1933 and 1945, when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party controlled the country, transforming it into a dictatorship. Under Hitler's rule, Germany quickly became a totalitarian state where nearly all aspects of life were controlled by the government. The Third Reich, meaning "Third Realm" or "Third Empire", alluded to the Nazis' conceit that Nazi Germany was the successor to the earlier Holy Roman Empire (800–1806) and German Empire (1871–1918). The Third Reich, which Hitler and the Nazis referred to as the Thousand Year Reich, ended in May 1945 after just 12 years, when the Allies defeated Germany, ending World War II in Europe.
Germany:
Germany (German: Deutschland), officially the Federal Republic of Germany, is a country in Central Europe. It is the second-most populous country in Europe after Russia, and the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany is situated between the Baltic and North seas to the north, and the Alps to the south; it covers an area of 357,022 square kilometers, with a population of over 83 million within its 16 constituent states. It borders Denmark to the north, Poland and the Czech Republic to the east, Austria and Switzerland to the south, and France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands to the west. The nation's capital and largest city is Berlin, and its financial center is Frankfurt; the largest urban area is the Ruhr.

Much of the history of Europe can be looked as attempts to put the Roman Empire back together again, and the Carolingian empire of the Franks was a serious attempt. But it failed. From one view, the fighting it unleashed continued for a thousand years between France and Germany as they fought wars against one another for control of Lotharingia, which helps explain why France felt it had natural borders during the French Revolution and why Napoleon annexed the region, and why Bismarck annexed Lorraine and why the French were so eager to get it back.

The Franks: the Birth of Modern Europe
When the Roman Empire fell and the Franks, the barbarians, started uniting via alliances and conquests, no one could predict them to grow into a powerful kingdom that, thanks to outstanding kings — Charles Martell and Charlemagne — would conquer half of Europe. Watch the video to dive into the details of the Frankish conquest, their transformation from a kingdom into an empire, and the fall of this great power.

Were the Franks German or French?
Hopefully, I was able to answer this question somewhat satisfactory!
This video took waay too long to make dude... The last ones were much quicker, because I only told straight up facts, in this one I had to analyse information more, and think about whats important to include and whats not. The editing took long aswell, I am not sure how well it turned out since its very fast paced but I hope it suits the video style.
Anyways glad I am done with it and I hope you find it somewhat interesting!
