Cape May County's Beach Railroads
Cape May County in New Jersey is a scenic ocean-side city forming a portion of the Atlantic Ocean coastline. It's had a unique and rather detailed railroad history too. As interurban railroads began to make their mark within the area during the late 1870s, the larger mainline railroads were able to link Philadelphians with the scenic views of Cape May, New Jersey, with the interurbans providing local transport. The interurbans linking up with steamships also provided ease of transit into the city as well. However, Cape May's railroad history is probably most noted for the mysterious "ghost tracks" of Sunset Beach. Those ghost tracks once were host of industrial railroading activities parallel to the Delaware Bay near the Atlantic Ocean. Sand mining, munitions testing, and a magnesite plant...

West Jersey RS-3's
The West Jersey RR was the designated operator for the ex-PRSL Salem Branch in south Jersey from 1988 to 1995. We stumbled upon this passenger move on a Saturday afternoon in the summer of 1991. The RS-3's are Ex-D&H via the Lamoille Valley RR of Vermont, and had the short hoods cut down while on the LVRR. In 1995 the Southern RR of New Jersey was awarded the contract to operate the Salem Branch, and the WJRR Alcos were moved to another Pioneer Railcorp operation in Michigan and have since been scrapped.

Pennsylvania Reading Seashore Lines Ocean City Branch
Opened in 1898, the Ocean City Branch of the PRSL was abandoned by New Jersey Transit in 1981. While the station continues to greet bus passengers into Ocean City, the railroad is now just a memory, with hints of it's existence remaining along the route.

Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines 1970s, Budd Rail Diesel Cars in New Jersey!
During the 1970s, Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines' self-propelled Rail Diesel Cars operated from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Cape May and Ocean City, New Jersey. Two Budd-built RDCs, or Budd Cars, split at Tuckahoe to go to their respective destinations. These are Super 8mm Color films with no audio.

Unboxing a Custom HO Scale West Jersey and Seashore Lines Boxcar
Well folks. Heres my latest video, which is an unboxing of a custom West Jersey and Seashore Lines Boxcar. unlike most pieces this car is not going into my fleet. instead it going to be donated to the Historic West Jersey Depot Museum and Welcome Center as the West Jersey and Seashore Lines were the original builders and operators of the Historic Depot and there arent any major exhibits that delve into the WJSL. So this Boxcar is going to be used to show visitors a little history of what a piece of WJSL rolling stock would look like.
Thanks for watching the Unboxing and I will see you in the next video.

Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines in the 1970s
We show recently-scanned slides of PRSL scenes from the collections of Tom Jorgensen and Bruce Morrill. Most are from the 1970s but a few go back into the 1940s and forward into the Conrail era. Enjoy the Baldwin diesels, Budd RDC-1s, and GP-38s that were the backbone of PRSL at that time.
The slides are shown with minimal narration. Dates, locations, and any photographer information appear in the upper-left corner of the screen.
This presentation was recorded live at the December 28, 2022 virtual meeting of the West Jersey Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.

Thanks for watching the Unboxing and I will see you in the next video.
btw my finger is fine
