Pennsylvania is Pere Ubu's eleventh studio album. The album marks Tom Herman's return to Pere Ubu's studio work after a twenty-year absence.
Director's Cut
In 2005, to celebrate Pere Ubu's 30th Anniversary, a "Director's Cut" was released which featured new mastering, alternate mixes, and two bonus tracks. David Thomas explains: "The point of doing a Director's Cut is to benefit from that older and wiser thing. I reviewed all alternate mixes from the session, sometimes discovering that an earlier mix turned out to be superior to the chosen mix. As well, 10 years later, we have access to improved mastering technology. Consequently, there is a greater clarity and cohesion to the Director's Cut. We are not going to make both versions available. The Director's Cut is the way it's supposed to be. Period."

Pennsylvania is the eighth-largest wine producing state in the country.

Summit Cut Bridge (A Haunted Bridge in Beaver County, PA!)
The story of the Summit Cut Bridge is the story of death. Back in the early 1950's a lady jumped off of the edge to her death. A few months later, a car went off the edge resulting in two more deaths. What is the story behind this bridge of people meeting their death on it? Is it really haunted? Along the bridge and underneath it, a 'woman in white' is said to walk in search of something! In addition to this video, I have posted photos of the bridge on my Pinterest Beaver County 2 board. Enjoy the video!

Wilson Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro, PA, Beaver County, PA
In the year 1799, a group of Scotch-Irish settlers acquired land and created a Presbyterian congregation in the village of Greersburg(now Darlington, PA) in Beaver County, PA. Without having materials at the time to build with, they constructed a "tent" church along the stretch of Little Beaver Creek. Early Beaver County settlers William and Leannah Wilson, along with family and friends, eventually formed the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church at this location. Subsequently, a few burials were made at this site resulting in the creation of the present cemetery. A considerable time later, the congregation abandoned this place for their church and moved a few times in the following years; the heart of Darlington became their official residence. This cemetery is located on Route 168 between Da...

The U.S. gained its 26th UNESCO World Heritage Site this summer. The Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Moravian settlement joined three other Moravian settlements in Germany, Denmark and Northern Ireland in becoming a World Heritage Site this year, tracing ideals and consistency found in Moravian city planning. Pennsylvania has emerged as one of the most important states in the country. Not only politically, but also economically and culturally. And this is largely because the state spans two distinct regions that are fairly different from each other. And right in the middle? A large, mostly empty region I've termed Pennsylvania's Empty Belt. So why don't more people live in central PA and and why is its east side so different from its west?
In this video, we'll cover the physical geography of Pennsylvania as one moves from east to west, the history of how the state developed into its two respective halves, and why the population of Pennsylvania largely coalesced in the far east and far west, but not really in its middle.

The Kintzler Murder—In December, 1877, within the borders of this township, on the southern slope of Jack’s mountain, and but one mile north of Troxelville, was perpetrated one of the most atrocious tragedies known in the annals of crime.
John Kintzler and Margaret, his wife, an aged couple, natives of Wurtemberg, Germany, there lived quiet, obscure and inoffensive life.
For the sake of gain they were both murdered in cold blood.
The Perpetrators of the act were finally captured, convicted and duly punished.
Persons desiring entertainment from the horrible details of this atrocity can be gratified by searching the records of our criminal court.
For reasons satisfactory to be the writer, it is deemed for the best interests of the public, to suppress all account of the affair.

This cemetery is located on Route 168 between Darlington and New Galilee, Beaver County, PA.
(The cemetery is also referred to as The Wilson Cemetery after the original settlers of the location.)
