Fresh Water Meets Sea Water – Boundary Explained
This is the Fraser River Delta just in front of Vancouver BC Canada, this is where sea water meets fresh water.
The river water from Fraser River, flows into the ocean water of the Strait of Georgia.

If you go on google earth and look up Fraser River or Sea Island which is an airport right at the water edge, you will see this boundary line stretching for miles.

How do rivers form? (surface and groundwater flow)
In this video, we will look into why water flows in rivers long after the rain has stopped. Where does the water come from? We will learn that rivers are fed from surface runoff, as water flows over the surface during, or shortly after it rains, but also through their beds, by groundwater which infiltrates through the soil and is stored in the pores of rocks in large underground reservoirs called aquifers. Finally, we will see that some water also comes from the melting of snow and ice high up in the mountains.

A line that separates two adjacent drainage basins is known as a water divide. It is often marked by an elevated area such as a mountain or a plateau. Precipitation on either side of the line travels in different or opposing directions. It is the separation between neighboring water basins. Any upland or a mountain separating two adjoining drainage basins is known as a water divide.
In topography, a drainage divide, water divide, divide, ridgeline, watershed, water parting or height of land is elevated terrain that separates neighboring drainage basins. On rugged land, the divide lies along topographical ridges and maybe in the form of a single range of hills or mountains, known as a dividing range.
It is located towards the eastern end of the Chota Nagpur Plateau in the Giridih district of the Indian state of Jharkhand, India.
The top ridge of Parasnath hill is located in Jharkhand, having a height of 1,365 meters is a good example of a Water diving line. This hilltop is extended almost 9 km from the east to west direction.
