It takes its name from the old County of Aberdeen which had substantially different boundaries. Modern Aberdeenshire includes all of what was once Kincardineshire, as well as part of Banffshire. The old boundaries are still officially used for a few purposes, namely land registration and lieutenancy.
Aberdeenshire Council is headquartered at Woodhill House, in Aberdeen, making it the only Scottish council whose headquarters are located outside its jurisdiction. Aberdeen itself forms a different council area (Aberdeen City). Aberdeenshire borders Angus and Perth and Kinross to the south, and Highland and Moray to the west.
Traditionally, it has been economically dependent upon the primary sector (agriculture, fishing, and forestry) and related processing industries. Over the last 40 years, the development of the oil and gas industry and associated service sector has broadened Aberdeenshire's economic base, and contributed to a rapid population growth of some 50% since 1975. Its land represents 8% of Scotland's overall territory. It covers an area of 6,313 square kilometres (2,437sqmi).
Edinburgh, the country's capital and second-largest city, was the hub of the Scottish Enlightenment of the 18th century, which transformed Scotland into one of the commercial, intellectual, and industrial powerhouses of Europe. Glasgow, Scotland's largest city, was once one of the world's leading industrial cities and now lies at the centre of the Greater Glasgow conurbation. Scottish waters consist of a large sector of the North Atlantic and the North Sea, containing the largest oil reserves in the European Union. This has given Aberdeen, the third-largest city in Scotland, the title of Europe's oil capital.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 18.7square miles (48.3km²), of which, 18.6square miles (48.2km²) of it is land and 0.1square miles (0.1km²) of it (0.27%) is water. It was incorporated in 1857.
History
In 1700 Isaac Magoon purchased 1,950 acres (7.9km2) of land from then Windham and thus began Scotland’s History. He named the town Scotland as a way of commemorating his ancestral home. Scotland was incorporated in May 1857.
Government
The town still maintains the town meeting as its form of government with a board of selectmen. The town also has eight boards & commissions, including Inlands & Wetlands, Planning & Zoning and Board of Education.
Attractions
Scotland is home to the D'Elia Antique Tool Museum. The museum was built in 2005 and is housed in the same building as the Scotland Public Library. It is the home of over 1200 antique woodworking planes dating back to the mid-18th century. Another attraction is the Samuel Huntington house which located on Huntington Rd or Route 14
This episode is also known as "The Loch Ness Monster".
Written by The Goodies, with songs and music by Bill Oddie.
Plot
The Goodies find a man about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge and talk him out of doing so. It turns out that the man is the zookeeper in charge of in the brand new Monster House at the London Zoo who is depressed because he does not have a monsterexhibit to put into it. The zookeeper mentions that he used to be the keeper in charge of the Snowdon Aviary at the zoo.
Tim, Bill and Graeme decide to go to Scotland, where they hope to be able to catch the Loch Ness Monster for the zookeeper to put into the Monster House. When they arrive in Scotland, they shop for supplies to help them catch the monster, and the tourism agent makes them spend a lot of money by selling them a huge number of assorted supplies for the job.
They hunt for Haggis, which runs away from them, and Tim is put into danger by the venomousBagpipesspider. Later, when Tim sets up to fish for the Loch Ness Monster, he finds it difficult to use the enormous fishing rod as well as having difficulty with the huge number of supplies which he has purchased to bait the hook of the fishing line. Graeme and Bill are also experiencing problems with their purchase of heavy diving suits and diving helmets. Descending into the depths of Loch Ness, Bill and Graeme discover that Tim is also there. Tim, who has not bought a diving suit, is holding his breath, an umbrella and a huge egg which he has purchased from the tourism agent (who has another shop at the bottom of Loch Ness). Graeme and Bill realise that it has all been a scam and, advising Tim to leave the giant-size egg behind, they discard their heavy diving gear to go to the surface of Loch Ness. It is there they find what they have been looking for, as the Loch Ness Monster surfaces slowly under them.

Labour mayor rejoices as former Scottish Tory leader describes exit poll as 'massacre'
Ruth Davidson, the former Scottish Tory leader, has described the exit poll as projecting a 'massacre' for her party. But it was not as bad as it might have been, she told Sky News.

Peterhead voters react to Douglas Ross losing his election bid #news #politics #election
Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross has been unseated as an MP as his party suffers catastrophic losses at the General Election.
The SNP bucked a nationwide trend with a win in Aberdeenshire North and Moray East, despite its vote share being decimated in the rest of Scotland.
His decision to stand in the constituency in the place of David Duguid led to his downfall, with the outgoing leader saying he would quit regardless of the result.
Duguid was barred from standing by party chiefs due to ill health but the former MP had said he was fit enough to stand.

The upcoming Scottish Parliament election could have a critical impact on the future of the Union, with the issue of independence dominating the election campaign, alongside Covid-19 recovery. Currently, polls suggest there will be another pro-independence majority in the parliament.

Ruth Davidson, the former Scottish Tory leader, has described the exit poll as projecting a 'massacre' for her party. But it was not as bad as it might have been, she told Sky News.
