White Pine - Identification and Uses
In this video I go over the White Pine and it's identification features as well as it's uses. The White Pine is one of the supermarkets of the forest. Providing everything from food, tea, medicine, glue, wood, and more this tree is certainly a one stop shop if you are stuck out there with nothing.
The needles of White Pine can be used to make tea that is up to 6 times higher in vitamin C than orange juice. The inner white bark of the tree can be eaten as is or dried and ground to a flour extender. The young male cones are useful when boiled as a vegetable and when the cones mature they often bring Pine nuts with them.
In a pinch for some glue? The Pine tree has you covered with it's sticky sap. Combine this sap with charcoal and dried grass to make pitch glue, or use it off the tree as a...

Tree Talk: Eastern White Pine
Here's another one for lovers of big trees! Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus) is an immense tree of immense historical, cultural, and economic importance. Once the dominant species of much of the northeastern U.S. and southeastern Canada, the enormous and economically valuable eastern white pine was a driving factor behind European colonial history. Old-growth white pine stands were cleared in the ensuing centuries, and the tree now mostly exists with a cohort of northern hardwood species, which it can eventually tower over. Eastern white pine is ecologically important and still commercially valuable, and is the state tree of Maine and Michigan, the state flower of Maine, and on the flag of Vermont.

Combine this sap with charcoal and dried grass to make pitch glue, or use it off the tree as an anti septic for cuts and scrapes. The uses of this tree are many and this video does not cover them all, however I have focused on the most pertinent ones.
I thank you guys for watching this video and I hope you learned something!
