Vettaikaaran (English: Hunter) is a 2009 Indian Tamilaction film directed by debutant B. Babusivan that stars Vijay and Anushka Shetty. Gopinath handled cinematography while V. T. Vijayan was the film's editor. The film, produced by AVM Productions and distributed by Sun Pictures, was launched in February 2009 and the shooting for the film commenced the following month.The film revolves around a youngster who aims to be a cop just like a local police commissioner whom he idolizes, but during the process he is stopped by the evil done to his friends by a local mobster. The film's soundtrack, composed by Vijay Antony,was released in September 2009. This film was dubbed in Hindi as Dangerous Khiladi 3 and Telugu as Puli Veta.
Plot
Ravi (Vijay) lives in Tuticorin. He aspires to become a policeman like his role model, Encounter Specialist Devaraj IPS (Srihari). After completing his Plus 2, he joins a college in Chennai and also earns a living by driving an auto rickshaw. During the course, he meets Suseela (Anushka Shetty) and falls in love with her instantly. Although Suseela rejects Ravi's advances at first, with the help of her grandmother (Sukumari), Ravi succeeds in winning Suseela's heart.
Puli (English:Tiger) is an Indian Tamilfantasy-adventure film written and directed by Chimbu Deven. The film features Vijay in a dual role alongside an ensemble cast including Sudeep, Sridevi, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani, Prabhu and Nandita Swetha. The film is dubbed into Telugu and Hindi languages simultaneously. Both the Telugu and Hindi versions were released a day later on 2 October 2015. Produced by Vijay's public relations officer Selvakumar, the film has music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Natarajan Subramaniam as the cinematographer and has T. Muthuraj as the production designer. After beginning pre-production works in early 2013, the film began its shoot in November 2014. The official teaser was released on 22 June 2015. The film was released on 1 October and received mixed reviews.
Plot
Marudheeran (Vijay) is the adopted son of a tribal village chief Vembunathan (Prabhu). From a young age, he notices the atrocities regularly committed on the villagers by a group of people from the neighbouring kingdom of Vedhalapuram called the Vedhalams, who have supernatural powers. When he becomes an adult, he starts to protect the villagers from the Vedhalams, because of which he is well respected by the villagers.
The car was 2.46 m long and was assembled using parts made by Škoda, Lada and Polski Fiat 126p available at that time in the country. It was propelled by a Diesel engine of 4kW. The body was made from reinforced glass fibre. It was intended to be exported mainly to France where no driving licence was needed to drive that category of vehicles. The company's profile was agricultural machinery building and did not survive the political-economical transition of Hungary to market economy in the end of the 1980s.
An electrical vehicle was produced in 1991 under the name Puli Pinguin 4.
In 2006 the Puli (car) returned under the ownership of Prokop Gábor. Prokop holds Puli and Wartburg trade marks.
