What is the Second Largest City in NEW ZEALAND? | Christchurch vs Wellington
What is the second largest city in New Zealand? This is a harder question to answer than you may think because there are various ways to define the size of a city; city proper, urban area and metropolitan area. New Zealand also introduced a new way of measuring urban areas in 2018, leading to two figures for each city. We end up with a battle between Christchurch and Wellington, as well as Hamilton?
What country should I do next in this series. France (Marseille vs Lyon) us already planned. Comment below.

Saan magandang tumira dito sa NZ?| Pinoy in New Zealand
Hello everyone!
Today, me and Tatay Bear decided to have a sit-down vlog and talk about the comparison between living in rural and urban areas here in New Zealand. If you are planning to move here, it is a good to at least, have an idea on where to settle.
We used to live in Far North, since that's where I found my very first employer here in New Zealand, as a registered nurse. After a year and just in time that our residency was approved, we decided to move to Auckland, in preparation for me, giving birth to our second child.
We are grateful to have experienced living both in Rural and Urban areas here in New Zealand. It was indeed a memorable experience for our family.
As always,
Hoping and Praying that this vlog will be
a blessing to you! ♥️

Why are People Moving to Cities? Crash Course Geography #45
According to the UN, people living in urban places now outnumber those in rural areas — which is a pretty new phenomenon for many parts of the world. So today, we’re going to discuss factors that have led to this shift in populations from rural to urban residences (known as urbanization), and we’ll examine the historical and structural systems, like colonialism and Central Place Theory, that have influenced the cities we see today.

The population of New Zealand is 4,334,000, the majority of whom are of European descent.
The largest minority are the native Maori. There are also a significant number of non-Maori Polynesians and Asians – especially in urban areas.
If you're thinking of moving to New Zealand, you'll need to decide where you're going to live.
Learn more about best places to live in New Zealand here, and decide where in the country you should settle.
Here're the 10 best places to live in New Zealand.
10. Waikato.
9. Nelson.
8. Selwyn.
7. Queenstown.
6. Christchurch.
5. Rotorua.
4. Auckland.
3. Dunedin.
2. Taranaki.
1. Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
If you are moving to live in New Zealand and you’re really not sure where you want to settle,
Auckland can be a great place to begin, you can rent accommodation easily within the city
and it has fantastic transport links for the rest of the nation.
But be sure to use these transport links, explore the North and South Islands and find the location
that best suits you before you buy a home or even commit to living in New Zealand full time.
Whilst the nation is not vast or overpopulated, it does encompass such an impressive array of geographically
different regions that it would be a crime not to explore far more of the country than its leading city before you settle on a place in New Zealand to call home.

Join our Young Urbanists in a series of online sessions that take a deep dive into different zoning systems across the world.
Speaker:
George Weeks moved from London to Auckland in 2017 to become a Principal Urban Designer at the Auckland Council Design Office. He is responsible for refreshing the Auckland City Centre Masterplan (CCMP) which provides a design-led vision for the heart of the city. George has also contributed to Auckland Council’s prizewinning work to develop a business case for walking and has helped to shape Auckland Transport’s Roads and Streets Framework. His work reflects a lifelong interest in the designs of city streets and their impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Outside work, he sails sportsboats on Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour.
The session is be chaired by Vicky Payne, Senior Consultant – Planning and Urban Design, URBED. Vicky is a planner and urban designer working at URBED in Manchester. She is interested in how core principles of urbanism can be supported through strategic spatial planning and design coding. She is motivated by the potential to bake in sustainability at a macro scale through well-considered plans, and the opportunities this affords at site level. She has worked on a wide range of projects including the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework and a National Model Design Code for the UK. Vicky believes that everyone should be able to participate in planning and wants to explore how the industry and technology can make this easier. She is a proud member of the RTPI and a passionate advocate for high quality planning in the UK.
