Union Station was a shopping mall in Union City, Georgia, in southwest Metro Atlanta adjacent to Interstate 85. Originally "Shannon Mall", it opened in 1980 and initially thrived until the 1990s when growth in neighboring cities drew shoppers away from the mall. After new ownership and renovations in 2006, the name was changed from "Shannon Mall" to "Union Station Mall" in 2006. After many years of decline, the mall closed in November 2010, and demolition began in late October 2014 to make way for a movie studio.
History
The mall opened on August 7, 1980 as Shannon Mall with anchor storesSears, Rich's, and Davison's. It was renovated in 1986, 1999, and 2006. In 1987, the mall became "Shannon Southpark Mall" - but was changed back to "Shannon Mall" after its renovation in 1999 due to the fact that 38% of people in a survey claimed to still use that name. In 2006, the mall was again renamed - this time as "Union Station Mall."
In 1986, the mall was renovated by adding a new wing that Mervyn's occupied.
A union station (also known as a union terminal and a joint station in Europe) is a railway station where tracks and facilities are shared by two or more separate railway companies, allowing passengers to connect conveniently between them. The term 'union station' is used in North America and 'joint station' is used in Europe.
In most cases, a US union station was used by all passenger trains serving the city, but this was not necessarily so. For example, in Chicago, the Illinois Central and Chicago & North Western depots coexisted with Union Station. Today, while all Amtrakintercity passenger trains use Union Station, Chicago's commuter rail service Metra uses Union Station as well as three additional terminals in the city.
North America
In North America, a union station is usually owned by a separate corporation whose shares are owned by the different railways which use it, so that the costs and benefits of its operations are shared proportionately among them. This contrasts with the system of trackage rights or running rights, where one railway company owns a line or facility, but allows another company to share it under a contractual agreement. However, the company that owns the union station and associated trackage does assign trackage rights to the railroads that use it. Many of the jointly-owned stations were built by terminal railroads. Examples include the Ogden Union Railway & Depot Company, jointly owned by Southern Pacific and Union Pacific to manage the Ogden Union Station in Ogden, Utah, and the Denver Terminal Railway Company, representing the Denver & Rio Grande Western, Chicago Burlington & Quincy, Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe, Colorado & Southern and Chicago Rock Island & Pacific and the Union Pacific railways, which managed the station in Denver, Colorado.
The station is located in the Northeast quadrant of the city under the western end of Union Station, the main train station for Washington, where connections can be made to Amtrak intercity trains, as well as Virginia Railway Express and MARCcommuter rail trains to suburbs in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
The station was originally named "Union Station–Visitor Center" but when the National Visitor Center there failed, it was renamed Union Station. One or two pylons still read "Union Station-Visitor Center", and a number of older stations still display this name on signage. Like the other original stations, Union Station sports coffered vaults of concrete in its ceiling.
Service began on March 27, 1976 with the opening of the Red Line. It is the busiest station in the Metrorail system, averaging 32,745 passengers per weekday as of May 2010.
Union Station is a St. Louis MetroLink station in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The station is adjacent to the Union Station shopping center. It was one of six MetroLink stations in the Downtown St. Louis Ride Free Zone at lunch time on weekdays prior to the 2009 service reduction.
The station is on the 18th Street side of Union Station.

Lyrics :
Tell you little story and it won't take long
'Bout a lazy farmer who wouldn't hoe his corn
The reason why I never could tell
But that young man was always well.
He planted his corn in the month of June
By July it was up to his eyes
Come September came a big frost
And all the young man's corn was lost.
His courtship had just begun
Said, "Young man, have you hoed some corn?"
"Well, I tried and I tried and I tried in vain
But I don't believe I raised one grain."
He went downtown to his neighbor's door
He had often been before
Said, "Pretty little miss, will you marry me?
Little miss what do you say?"
"Why do you come for me to wed?
Can't even make your own corn grain.
Single I am and will remain;
A lazy man I won't maintain."
He turned his back and walked away
Sayin', "Little miss you rue the day.
You'll rue the day that you were born
For givin' me the devil cause I wouldn't hoe corn."
