Under a Raging Moon is Roger Daltrey's sixth solo album issued in September 1985. The album reached No. 42 on the US charts, and the single "After the Fire", written by Pete Townshend, reached No. 48. It included a tribute to Keith Moon, former drummer of The Who, who died in 1978, on the track "Under a Raging Moon".
The album was produced by Alan Shacklock, recorded at RAK Recording Studios and Odyssey Studios, London, and released on Atlantic Records in the US. Later the album was also released on CD (Atlantic 7 81269-1) in the US, including the bonus track "Love Me Like You Do".
Mike DeGagne of Allmusic reviewed the recording, stating "Daltrey's thunderous but passionate ode to his former friend and drummer Keith Moon is a fervent downpour of frustration that can be truly felt inside every line of the song. A spectacular drum solo from Mark Brzezicki is a modest tribute to the late Moon and adds depth." Additionally, Rolling Stone's review said, "Parr's entry is the heartfelt title track, a clunky, roaring number that mourns Keith Moon with more sentiment than clarity. A bombastic hodgepodge salvaged by a passionate vocal, "Under a Raging Moon" unabashedly quotes "Baba O'Riley" and – in an old-fashioned bit of show-stopping theatre – employs seven drummers, including Stewart Copeland, Carl Palmer and Martin Chambers, each of whom plays a section of the elegy."

Under a Raging Moon by John Parr - Full Band FC #2997
This song... where to begin? Well, let's start with the drum chart, which is obviously the biggest feature of this video. This is a classic case of a song that would be difficult under normal circumstances, but is made significantly more difficult by its atrocious charting.
The most frustrating parts are from the drum solo to the very end of the song, which starts about four minutes in. The drum solo is so mischarted it hurts, particularly near the end, which is charted completely backwards. The very ending of the song has a swell and unorthodox rolls that Helen Keller could have charted more accurately. Perhaps the most annoying part on IONs is the roll-limited red burst just several measures before the end, which caused Steven some strife. Then on top of that, you have the ride cy...

All my life I will remember this

For this moment I was born for it

(Under a raging moon)
We were flying there
(Under a raging moon)
We saw Zion there
It ended all too soon
Under a raging moon
We were out there
When they handed us the rebel's crown
All the headlines
All they tried to do was tear us down
But the wild man
He didn't fool around
Do you remember me?
'Cause I remember you
Yeah you won my love
When the dream came true
When my blood ran high
I can hear it now
All my life I will remember it
(Under a raging moon)
For this moment I was born for it
(Under a raging moon)
(Under a raging moon)
We were flying boy
(Under a raging moon)
It's worth dying for
It ended all too soon
Under a raging moon
Under a raging moon
Taking me back to better times
We never read the danger signs
Why are the young
Why are the young so blind?
Do you remember me?
'Cause I remember you
Yeah you won my love
When the dream came true
All my life I will remember this

Perhaps the most annoying part on IONs is the roll-limited red burst just several measures before the end, which caused Steven some strife. Then on top of that, you have the ride cymbal as yellow throughout the song, which doesn't really add any difficulty - it's just plain stupid. There are many reasons the number of drums FCs of this can be counted on one hand, and Steven got the first pro drums FC, followed only by Nolan.
The rest of the charts are for the most part correct, but there is still one glaring oversight. Notice how we didn't get gold stars as a band? That's because it's actually not possible. Thanks to lack of overdrive, and the ABSURD lack of drum fills, there is actually no way to get gold on this as a band, even on All Instruments Mode. This FBFC run was still about 300k off. The only sensible activations involve going with pro keys in its points-heavy parts, since it outscores every other instrument combined. Drums can't go during those parts, though, so rest in peace. The leaderboards are now cluttered with various people that attempted this FBFC at some point, but the previous band high score prior to us attempting it wasn't even a 5 star. That's insane. We were actually considering just having all of our activations with drums, just to prove how truly awful the OD and drum fill placements are, but we decided against it.
Anyway, I'm sure everyone in this lineup is beyond glad to have this done. Despite its flaws, it's still a pretty great song, and a hell of a FBFC. I hope you agree.

This is The John Entwistle Band performing the song "Under a Raging Moon," written by John Parr and Julia Downes as a tribute to Who drummer Keith Moon. This song was originally featured on Roger Daltrey's 1985 solo album of the same name. This version was featured on the live release "Left for Live - Deluxe."
