U.S. Route 101
U.S. Route 101, or U.S. Highway 101, is a north–south U.S. highway that runs through the states of California, Oregon, and Washington, on the West Coast of the United States. It is also known as El Camino Real (The Royal Road) where its route along the southern and central California coast approximates the old trail which linked the Spanish missions, pueblos, and presidios. It merges at some points with California Highway 1.
Though U.S. Route 101 remains a major coastal north–south link along the Pacific coast north of San Francisco, it has been replaced in overall importance for transport through the West Coast states by Interstate 5, which is more modern in its physical design, goes through more major cities, and has more direct routing due to significantly easier geography over much of the route. Route 101 is a major parallel freeway or highway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and is an alternative to the Interstate for most of its length. In 1964, California truncated US 101's southern terminus in Los Angeles, as Interstate 5 replaced it. The old road is known as County Road S-21 or Historic Route 101 in northern San Diego County.

U.S. Route 202
U.S. Route 202 (US 202) is a highway stretching from Delaware to Maine, also passing through the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Its parent route, U.S. Route 2, only goes through three of these same states: New York, New Hampshire, and Maine.
The road has borne the number 202 since at least 1936. Before this, sections of the road were designated U.S. Route 122, as it intersected U.S. Route 22. Its current designation is based on its intersection with US 2 in Maine.
This route is considerably longer than the eastern segment of US 2, making it one of several 3-digit US routes to be longer than their parent routes.

Delaware
US 202 begins at an interchange with US 13/US 40 south of Wilmington. It runs north along the same road as Delaware Route 141, then joins with Interstate 95 through Wilmington. North of the city, it exits the freeway onto Concord Pike, heading north; Delaware Route 202 also continues south from this point. US 202 continues north towards the state line as a six-lane arterial road and is lined with numerous strip malls and "big-box stores".

U.S. Route 66
U.S. Route 66 (US 66 or Route 66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in America, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa Monica, California, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940 km). It was recognized in popular culture by both the hit song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" and the Route 66 television show in the 1960s.
Route 66 served as a major path for those who migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, and it supported the economies of the communities through which the road passed. People doing business along the route became prosperous due to the growing popularity of the highway, and those same people later fought to keep the highway alive in the face of the growing threat of being bypassed by the new Interstate Highway System.

U.S. Route 69
U.S. Route 69 is a north–south United States highway. When it was first created, it was only 150 miles (241 km) long, but it has since been expanded into a Minnesota to Texas cross-country route. The highway's southern terminus (as well as those of US 287 and US 96) is in Port Arthur, Texas at an intersection with State Highway 87. Its northern terminus is in Albert Lea, Minnesota at Minnesota State Highway 13.

US 69 begins at its southern terminus with SH 87 in Port Arthur. This intersection is also the southern terminus for US 96 and US 287, which are concurrent with US 69. US 69, US 96, and US 287 continue in a northwest, then west, route until its intersection with Interstate 10 in southern Beaumont. At this intersection, US 69, US 96, and US 287 merge with I-10. I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well.

New Hampshire Route 101
New Hampshire Route 101 is a state-maintained highway in southern New Hampshire extending from Keene to Hampton Beach. It is the major east–west highway in the southern portion of the state.
The western terminus of NH 101 is in Keene at the junction with New Hampshire Routes 9, 10 and 12. The eastern terminus is in Hampton Beach at the junction with Ocean Boulevard (NH 1A). The total length of NH 101 is approximately 95 miles (153 km). However, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation has installed mileposts on the freeway section east of Interstate 93 that begin at mile 100.
NH 101 travels through the following municipalities (west to east): Keene, Marlborough, Dublin, Peterborough, Temple, Wilton, Milford, Amherst, Bedford, Manchester, Auburn, Candia, Raymond, Epping, Brentwood, Exeter, Stratham, and Hampton.
Between Exeter and Hampton, NH 101 is known as the Exeter–Hampton Expressway.
Route description
NH 101 is a two-lane surface road from its western terminus in Keene to the western terminus of New Hampshire Route 101A in Milford. From there, NH 101 splits off to the south and becomes a two-lane limited-access highway that bypasses Milford and Amherst, becoming a two-lane surface road just north of Amherst. At the eastern terminus of New Hampshire Route 114 in Bedford, NH 101 becomes a four-lane limited-access highway. It expands to six lanes upon merging with Interstate 293 in Manchester, and eight lanes upon merging with Interstate 93. East of I-93, NH 101 narrows to four lanes. The route remains a four-lane expressway until exit 12 (Interstate 95) in Hampton, where NH 101 becomes a two-lane freeway at exit 13. At an interchange with U.S. Route 1, it becomes a two-lane surface road to its terminus in Hampton Beach.

West Virginia Route 101
West Virginia Route 101 is an unsigned 1-mile (1.6 km) long north–south state highway in the City of Huntington in Cabell County, West Virginia. The southern terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 60 (31st Street). The northern terminus is at US 60 (Third Avenue).
From 31st Street, WV 101 follows Eighth Avenue west to 29th Street, where WV 101 turns north to follow 29th Street to Third Avenue.
History
WV 101 was part of US 60 until US 60 was moved two blocks to the east in 1990.

EVERY Town on the Oregon Coast -The Drive Down Highway 101
Did I miss anything on this road trip down Oregon's coastline? I don't think so! It took two weeks to stop at every town (and other features - like the famed lighthouses and viewpoints). The Oregon Coast is almost entirely accessible by vehicle. It is 362 miles long from north to south. It also has a couple other names and designations: Highway 101, The People's Coast and The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. It's also an All American Road, which is a Federal Highway Administration designation. The criteria for an All American Road is that it must feature two or more intrinsic qualities that are nationally significant and do not exist elsewhere. Did I miss anything on this road trip down Oregon's coastline? I don't think so! It took two weeks to stop at every town (and other features - like the famed lighthouses and viewpoints). The Oregon Coast is almost entirely accessible by vehicle. It is 362 miles long from north to south. It also has a couple other names and designations: Highway 101, The People's Coast and The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. It's also an All American Road, which is a Federal Highway Administration designation. The criteria for an All American Road is that it must feature two or more intrinsic qualities that are nationally significant and do not exist elsewhere. The road must also be a destination unto itself, which means the actual drive is the primary reason for the trip.

The route was used by many who migrated west during the 1900s and it was popularized in songs, TV series and The Grapes of Wrath. My dad and I went on a full Route 66 road trip over 14 days in June of 2019 and made this video to share what the route looked like during that time period and to encourage others to drive this historic road.

U.S. Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway, was one of the original highways constructed by the U.S. Highway System in 1926. Route 66 is over 90 years old and definitely, a road less traveled. There are plenty of weird attractions to be seen along this iconic road that starts in Chicago and ends in Los Angeles. While much of Route 66 has disappeared following its decommissioning as a major American highway in 1985, there remains plenty of evidence to be seen and cherished by historical and pop-cultural lovers. Large chunks of Route 66-related memorabilia have been preserved at the Route 66 Association Hall of Fame and Museum.

Route 66 has gained a reputation as the United States of America’s most famous road. How did that happen, and why does it still matter?
In this episode of Vox Almanac, Vox’s Phil Edwards explores the history of the road and the textures of its present, from the road itself to the roadside attractions along the way, to the people who enjoy its diversions and those who help maintain them. It reveals a road that’s changed a lot over the decades but remains vital in unexpected ways.
When Cyrus Avery helped found Route 66 in the 1920s, he strived to create a road that would connect the Midwest to the West, and he resorted to promotional tricks and wheeling and dealing to get it done. The road quickly became a key route for migrants escaping the dust bowl and depression, forming its early reputation as “the Mother Road.”
That’s because it’s a road that’s more than a strip of concrete (or gravel, or dirt). It’s a historical document of everyone who’s traveled on it — as the many contributions from Vox’s YouTube subscribers show, that keeps it going even as the interstates run alongside it.
The number of Route 66 resources out there is huge, but we found these particularly helpful.

A tour of the California Coast by Highway 101 and the Pacific Coast Highway. We start on Highway 101 at the Oregon Border and continue to Crescent City where it becomes the Redwood Highway.
We then follow it through the Wine Country of Sonoma County and into San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge. Highway 101 becomes the Bayshore Freeway as we travel across the Silicon Valley to San Jose.
We the move to the Pacific Coast Highway just south of Monterey and follow across the Bixby Creek Bridge through twisting, cliff hanging curves with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. At San Luis Obispo Route 1 and Highway 101 join again as we travel down the best Surfing areas of the country along the PCH.
At Oxnard we follow Route 1 across the beaches of LA, Santa Monica & Venice Beach. South of LA, we travel through Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and ending at Capistrano Beach. We then go back to LA and follow highway 101 ending at I-5 & I-10.

Did I miss anything on this road trip down Oregon's coastline? I don't think so! It took two weeks to stop at every town (and other features - like the famed lighthouses and viewpoints). The Oregon Coast is almost entirely accessible by vehicle. It is 362 miles long from north to south. It also has a couple other names and designations: Highway 101, The People's Coast and The Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. It's also an All American Road, which is a Federal Highway Administration designation. The criteria for an All American Road is that it must feature two or more intrinsic qualities that are nationally significant and do not exist elsewhere. The road must also be a destination unto itself, which means the actual drive is the primary reason for the trip.

U.S. Route 101
U.S. Route 101, or U.S. Highway 101, is a north–south U.S. highway that runs through the states of California, Oregon, and Washington, on the West Coast of the United States. It is also known as El Camino Real (The Royal Road) where its route along the southern and central California coast approximates the old trail which linked the Spanish missions, pueblos, and presidios. It merges at some points with California Highway 1.
Though U.S. Route 101 remains a major coastal north–south link along the Pacific coast north of San Francisco, it has been replaced in overall importance for transport through the West Coast states by Interstate 5, which is more modern in its physical design, goes through more major cities, and has more direct routing due to significantly easier geography over much of the route. Route 101 is a major parallel freeway or highway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, and is an alternative to the Interstate for most of its length. In 1964, California truncated US 101's southern terminus in Los Angeles, as Interstate 5 replaced it. The old road is known as County Road S-21 or Historic Route 101 in northern San Diego County.

Route 66 is the United State's historic highway that was established in 1926, It is over 2,400 miles, and it goes from Santa Monica, California to Chicago, Illinois. The route was used by many who migrated west during the 1900s and it was popularized in songs, TV series and The Grapes of Wrath. My dad and I went on a full Route 66 road trip over 14 days in June of 2019 and made this video to share what the route looked like during that time period and to encourage others to drive this historic road.

U.S. Route 66, also known as the Will Rogers Highway, was one of the original highways constructed by the U.S. Highway System in 1926. Route 66 is over 90 years old and definitely, a road less traveled. There are plenty of weird attractions to be seen along this iconic road that starts in Chicago and ends in Los Angeles. Route 66 has gained a reputation as the United States of America’s most famous road. How did that happen, and why does it still matter?
In this episode of Vox Almanac, Vox’s Phil Edwards explores the history of the road and the textures of its present, from the road itself to the roadside attractions along the way, to the people who enjoy its diversions and those who help maintain them. It reveals a road that’s changed a lot over the decades but remains vital in unexpected ways.
When Cyrus Avery helped found Route 66 in the 1920s, he strived to create a road that would connect the Midwest to the West, and he resorted to promotional tricks and wheeling and dealing to get it done. The road quickly became a key route for migrants escaping the dust bowl and depression, forming its early reputation as “the Mother Road.”
That’s because it’s a road that’s more than a strip of concrete (or gravel, or dirt). It’s a historical document of everyone who’s traveled on it — as the many contributions from Vox’s YouTube subscribers show, that keeps it going even as the interstates run alongside it.
