List of 2016 UCI Professional Continental and Continental teams
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the governing body of cycling, categorises teams into three divisions. The top 18 teams are the UCI WorldTeams and compete in the UCI World Tour. The second and third divisions respectively are the Professional Continental teams and the Continental teams.
The teams compete in the UCI Continental Circuits, which are divided into five continental zones: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. They also win points in the UCI World Ranking. Professional Continental teams are also invited to participate in events in the UCI World Tour, although they are not eligible to win points in the World Tour rankings.
UCI Professional Continental teams
According to the UCI Rulebook,
"a professional continental team is an organisation created to take part in road events open to professional continental teams. It is known by a unique name and registered with the UCI in accordance with the provisions below.
The UCI Continental Circuits are continental circuits for a series of road bicycle racing competitions since 2005. The five circuits (each representing Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania continents) are inferior to the UCI World Tour. Both the World Tour and the Continental Circuits comprise a series of races in which various cycling teams compete regularly. It is introduced by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to provide an adequate and realistic context in order to encourage the expansion of cycling, everywhere in the world.

Winners
There is a competition for the individual ranking, team ranking and country ranking with the most points gained from winning or achieving a high place in the races. The rider in the first place of the individual ranking of the continental circuit at the end of the season will be the sacred winner of his circuit. The list shows the UCI Africa Tour champions according to the year.

Following Ryan out for a little tour de Montreal on bicycles was a blast. The city is set up for a cyclist to enjoy for sure with an intricate network of pathways & trails, getting around is more than enjoyable as well as safe. It's always great to see what a UCI Continental Team looks like on a more casual spin... & it's been exciting to work with them & the Winning the Race with Diabetes Foundation in their Après wear.

I am visiting my family up on the Sunshine Coast this week and couldn't miss the opportunity to ride with the Moo Cru again, so of course I packed my bike. Moo Cru runs rides daily from the coffee shop and has been for many years now. Sunshine Coast has quite the cycling scene and is a hub for hitters/professional cyclists in their off-season.
The Grind is their Saturday ride, renowned for being an all-out effort, aka hold on or get dropped. This weekend we had a few UCI Continental riders present from both the Kinan UCI Japanese Racing Team and the ARA Skip Capital UCI Team.
