Route 167 is a short, 0.77-mile (1.24km) long unsigned state highway in Atlantic and Burlington Counties in New Jersey. The route is one of the few discontinuous state highways in New Jersey, split by wetlands, the Garden State Parkway and the Mullica River. Although the alignment is registered by the New Jersey Department of Transportation as 2.76 miles (4.44km) highway, the amount of roadway is considerably shorter. The route begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 9 in Port Republic, where it continues along Old New York Road to an end of roadway at the Parkway embankment. Across the Mullica River, Route 167 continues at a gate for wetlands, heading northward to an intersection with U.S. Route 9 in Bass River Township.
The route originated as part of New Jersey Route 4 during construction of a new state highway in 1917. Route 4 was built northward to the current Route 167 northern terminus in 1926, which was designated as part of U.S. Route 9 that year. The highway was 2.64 miles (4.25km) long along an iron truss bridge. The route remained intact until construction of the Garden State Parkway and a new bridge over the Mullica River in 1948. When the bridge was finished, Route 9 was realigned off the roadway and the prior alignment became Route 167 during the New Jersey state highway renumbering. The route was split twice since 1953, first by the removal of the old Mullica River bridge in 1962 as part of a sale to the National Park Service for a refuge in Virginia, then the northern portion was dismantled except for a 0.12 miles (0.19km) long alignment for a wetland mitigation project. Today, the route remains in half and the road is still maintained by the state.
Route 167 begins as West Avon Road at an intersection with Route 4 in the Unionville section of the town of Farmington. It proceeds in a northeast direction, crossing into the town of Avon after 0.7 miles (1.1km). In Avon, it continues north through the West Avon section of town for about 3.4 miles (5.5km) before entering the town of Simsbury. The road name changes to Bushy Hill Road after crossing the town line, where it also has a junction with U.S. Route 44. Route 167 continues generally northeast for 4.8 miles (7.7km), then meets Route 309 (leading to West Simsbury village). Here, Route 167 turns east onto West Street and continues for another 0.7 miles (1.1km) before ending at an intersection with US 202 and Route 10 in Simsbury Center.
A section of Route 167 from Harris Road in Avon to the Simsbury-Avon town line is designated the First Company Governor’s Horse Guards Memorial Highway.
New York State Route167 (NY167) is a north–south state highway in the Mohawk Valley region of New York in the United States. It extends for 26.17 miles (42.12km) from an intersection with U.S. Route20 (US20) in the Otsego County village of Richfield Springs to a junction with NY29 in the Herkimer County village of Dolgeville. Midway between the two endpoints, NY167 passes through the city of Little Falls, where it meets NY5 and indirectly connects to the New York State Thruway by way of NY169. Most of NY167 is a two-lane rural highway; however, in Little Falls, NY167 ranges in width from two to four lanes as it serves commercial and industrial sections of the city.
The piece of NY167 between Richfield Springs and Paines Hollow, a small hamlet southwest of Little Falls, was originally part of an unsigned legislative route in the early 20th century. Farther north, the segment between Little Falls and Dolgeville was added to the legislative route system in 1910. In 1924, the Richfield Springs–Paines Hollow route became part of NY28; however, that route was altered as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York to follow a new alignment to the west. NY28's former routing between Richfield Springs and Paines Hollow became part of the new NY167, which continued north through Little Falls to Dolgeville as it does today.
US 69 begins at its southern terminus with SH 87 in Port Arthur. This intersection is also the southern terminus for US 96 and US 287, which are concurrent with US 69. US 69, US 96, and US 287 continue in a northwest, then west, route until its intersection with Interstate 10 in southern Beaumont. At this intersection, US 69, US 96, and US 287 merge with I-10. I-10/US 69/US 96/US 287 continue in a northerly direction through Beaumont for several miles. Just after the intersection with US 90, I-10 splits from the multiplex and resumes its easterly course, leaving US 69, US 96, and US 287 heading northwest through Beaumont. US 69 north of I-10 is also known officially known as Eastex Freeway, and is an official evacuation route, just as Interstate 69/US 59 heading north from Houston is known as Eastex Freeway as well.
U.S. Route66 (US66 or Route66), also known as the Will Rogers Highway and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or the Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Route66 was established on November 11, 1926, with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in America, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa Monica, California, covering a total of 2,448 miles (3,940km). It was recognized in popular culture by both the hit song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" and the Route66 television show in the 1960s.
Route66 served as a major path for those who migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, and it supported the economies of the communities through which the road passed. People doing business along the route became prosperous due to the growing popularity of the highway, and those same people later fought to keep the highway alive in the face of the growing threat of being bypassed by the new Interstate Highway System.
One of the original 1926 U.S. highways through Louisiana, U.S. 167 was much shorter in its original form, spanning from Arkansas to present-day Colfax. It has been extended twice since.
U.S. 167 then turns to the north, transitioning from a six-lane urban highway to an Interstate, as it crosses under I-10 and becomes I-49, running concurrent with I-49 through Opelousas, where it crosses U.S. 190. U.S. 167 then turns off to the northwest, passing through small towns like Ville Platte and Turkey Creek.

I wasted so much more than time And the one with whom I was as one Has now undone what came to be known as our love Which could not contain all that which she'd become I was flat out wrong And with both hands on the days gone by I gripped my eyes wide open Because I can't sleep at night The world is much too cold Without someone there to hold me or to hold That's the way it goes And I always thought that I would die If you ever told me goodbye But it wasn't until tonight Tonight, I found out I was right I wasted almost all my life Being so afraid to fail I hardly tried I found a place to hide I dove into you I swam around, around inside But I'm not the boy that you destroyed I'm stronger than he was I had to be to survive I'm lucky to be alive The me you left behind Is still lying there With his eyes froze open wide And I always thought that I would die If you ever told me goodbye But it wasn't until tonight
