Two of a Kind is an early TV series for comedy duo Morecambe and Wise. It ran from 1961 to 1968 on ATV.
History
On the back of success on stage in their double act in 1961 the comic partnership of Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise were offered a series for ATV by impresario Lew Grade. Paired with writers Sid Green and Dick Hills, the series fared poorly to start with. Early episodes saw Hills and Green writing for the comedians as if Morecambe and Wise were alter egos of the writers. There was an argument between the writers and the talent which was ended by an Equity strike which left the autumn television schedules in tatters. Green commented to Morecambe "You're done for", to which Morecambe replied "Not at all, we belong to VAF". The Variety Artists' Federation was then a separate trade union since incorporated into Equity. The tables turned and Morecambe and Wise got their way. The sketches began to reflect their stage work and series became a success. Indeed, Hills and Green even appeared in the series as "Sid and Dick" - two all-purpose stooges.
Mike Farrell (O'Brien) is induced by con artists Brandy Kirby (Scott) and attorney Vincent Mailer (Knox) to purloin a rich couple's ten million dollar estate by having Farrell pose as their long-lost son.
When the old man refuses to change his will, Mailer decides to kill them, and Kirby plays along. Farrell refuses to assist, and Mailer plans to kill him too. After a botched attempt, with Kirby's help, Farrell exposes the scam to the old man, dooming Mailer's plan, and allowing Kirby and Farrell to unite, as 'Two of a Kind'.
Two of a Kind (Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton album)
Two of a Kind was a 1971 duet album by Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton. The album reached # 13 on the U.S. country albums charts. The album is unusual in that no single 45rpm releases were issued of any of the songs. (The track "The Pain of Loving You" was later released as the "B" side of "The Right Combination" from their 1972 album of the same name.)
"Curse of the Wild Weed Flower" is of note being an anti-marijuana song, one of the few country songs of the period to discuss drugs.

They say we're searching for love we'll never find
They say we're foolish kids, we're two of a kind
We know we've found our love when your lips meet mine
That's when we know they're right, we're two of a kind
No matter what they say when it's all said and done
And we are old enough, we two will be one.
And when we pass them by with your hand in mine
Then they'll just smile and say "they're two of a kind"
