Have you ever heard of the country called DJIBOUTI? If not, don't feel embarrassed... because it's a very tiny country in the Horn of Africa that gets minimal tourism -- roughly 70,000 visitors per year.
Over the last 2 days, I have explored every facet of the capital & biggest city called Djibouti City. I find this place to be the most interesting country in Africa.
Here are some of my quick realizations:
- It's VERY EXPENSIVE -- I have spent more than $400 in the last 2 days and I haven't done much other than walk around, take a few taxis, eat 4 meals & sleep (keep in mind my visa was $90 and my hotel was $105).
- Walking around the streets feels very much like France, from the colonization period that started in 1884 and ended in 1977. The people here speak French (first), Arabic (second) and English (third, if any at all).
- There is a LOT OF SECURITY everywhere -- police/military guards standing on every corner (literally) with giant guns strapped to their backs. It is kind of crazy and very intimidating, but safe.
- About a quarter of Djibouti's population (~250,000 people) are living in extreme poverty, which is more extreme than you'd think given that this country is so expensive. A massive contrast between rich & poor.
All of my thoughts on this mysterious country, and more, are in this video. Have you ever been to Djibouti?

Djibouti City, the beating heart of Djibouti, pulsates with a rich history, a strategic location, and a burgeoning economy. Here's a deeper dive into its captivating story:
A Storied Past:
Djibouti City's journey began in 1888 when Fre colonists, lured by the Gulf of Tadjoura's
deepwater harbor and proximity to the Red Sea, established a coaling station. This pivotal move transformed the sleepy settlement into a thriving port city. As the capital of French Somaliland and later the French Territory of the Afars and Issas, Djibouti City witnessed decades of colonial influence.

The History of Djibouti
The history of Djibouti is a tale that weaves together ancient cultures, colonial influences, and the quest for independence. Situated at the crossroads of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, Djibouti's strategic location made it a natural trading hub for centuries. It has seen the footprints of various civilizations, from the ancient Djiboutiians and Greeks to Arab merchants and Ottoman rulers, who recognized its significance as a gateway to the Red Sea.
The 19th century brought European colonial interests, with the French establishing a presence in the region. Djibouti became a French colony in 1888, known as French Somaliland. The colonial period saw the construction of infrastructure, including a railway connecting Djibouti to Ethiopia, further enhancing its role as a trade conduit. The 20th century brought turmoil, as Djibouti underwent periods of struggle for independence, finally achieving sovereignty in 1977 as the Republic of Djibouti.
In the decades since gaining independence, Djibouti has sought to harness its geographical significance for economic growth. The nation's ports and naval bases have made it a valuable partner in international trade and security efforts. Djibouti's history serves as a testament to its enduring resilience and its ability to navigate through the currents of changing powers, ultimately forging a distinct identity as a bridge between continents and cultures.

Unveiling Djibouti City: A Crossroads of History, Trade, and Opportunity
The legacy of this era is evident in the European Quarter's distinctive French colonial architecture, a unique blend of European and Islamic styles. Djibouti gained independence in 1977, and Djibouti City proudly assumed the mantle of the nation's capital, embarking on a new chapter of self-determination.
Economic Powerhouse:
Djibouti City's true strength lies in its strategic location. Nestled at the mouth of the Red Sea, it serves as a vital gateway for trade between A Il the Middle East, and Asia. The colossal Djibout.
Port, a linchpin of the economy, bustles with activity as ships laden with goods from across the globe navigate its deep waters. Further solidifying its position as a regional trade hub is the completion of a railway line to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, facilitating the efficient movement of goods within the continent.
Cornerstone of Regional Stability:
Djibouti City transcends its economic significance, playing a critical role in safeguarding regional stability. Several foreign military bases, including those of France, the United States, Japan, and Italy, call the city home. This strategic presence contributes significantly to maintaining maritime security in the volatile Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
A Tapestry of Life:
The quality of life in Djibouti City presents a multifaceted picture. While the city boasts mr amenities and infrastructure in certain districi particularly the affluent Plateau du Serpent with its sleek apartments and luxurious villas, poverty remains a pressing concern in some areas.
Disparities exist in access to healthcare and education, highlighting the need for ongoing development efforts.

deepwater harbor and proximity to the Red Sea, established a coaling station. This pivotal move transformed the sleepy settlement into a thriving port city. As the capital of French Somaliland and later the French Territory of the Afars and Issas, Djibouti City witnessed decades of colonial influence.

#Cheetah leopard #shorts videos beautiful animals
This article is about an animal. For cheetah (disambiguation), see Cheetah (disambiguation) .
The cheetah ( Acinonyx jubatus ), which comes in the cat family ( Vidal ), is known for its amazing agility and speed. It is the only living member of the genus Acinonyx , which is recognized by the variation in the appearance of its claws. For this reason, it is the only wild species whose claws are not closed and due to which its grip remains weak (so it cannot climb trees, although due to its agility, it goes into low twigs). It is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h [3] [4] in a short jump and reaching 460 m/s. It can cover a distance of up to three seconds and within just three seconds it can increase its speed to 103 kmph, which is mostFaster than the speed of a superc...

Solomon's Gold Mines in Ophir & Ancient Egypt's Land of Punt were in the Indus Valley Civilization!
The Land of Punt was a kingdom and trading partner of Ancient Egypt. And at times, the Egyptians called Punt Ta netjer, meaning "God's Land". This referred to the fact that it was among the regions of the Sun God, or the regions located in the direction of the sunrise, to the East of Egypt.
The earliest recorded ancient Egyptian expedition to Punt which returned with cargoes of incense as well as Puntites (the local people of Punt) was organized by Pharaoh Sahure of the Fifth Dynasty (circa 25th century BC). However, gold from Punt is recorded as having been in Egypt as early as the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC of the Fourth Dynasty.
During the Twelfth Dynasty circa 1991 BC to 1802 BC, trade with Punt was celebrated in popular literature via the Tale of the Shipwrecked Sai...

It can cover a distance of up to three seconds and within just three seconds it can increase its speed to 103 kmph, which is mostFaster than the speed of a supercar . [5] Recent studies have proved that the cheetah is the fastest animal to live on earth. [6]
The word cheetah is derived from the Sanskrit word chitrakayah , which has come through the Hindi cheetah and which means multicolored body . [7]
Genetics and Classification Edit
The species of cheetah is called acinonyx in Greek , which means non-rotating claw , while in Latin its species is called jubatus , which means mane , which was probably due to the hair found in the neck of the cubs. Ho.

Cheetahs have unusually low genetic variation, due to which very few spermatozoa are found in the semen which are less motile as they are prone to deformed flagellum ( tail ) due to genetic weakness . [8] This can be understood as the fact that when skin transplantation is performed between two unrelated cheetahs, there is no rejection of the donor's skin to the donor. It is thought that this is because inbreeding continued for a longer period due to genetic barriers during the last Ice Age . The Miocene in Africa probably before the cheetah migrated to Asia .(2.6 million-75 million years ago) evolved in the period. Recently a team led by Warren Johnson and Stephen Aubren conducted a new study at the National Cancer Institute in the Laboratory of Genomic Diversity ( Frederick , Maryland , United States ) and found all extant species as 11 million years old living in Asia. previous common ancestor of cheetahs, which may have led to the modification and refinement of existing ideas about cheetah evolution. Extinct species now include: Acinonyx pardinensis (Pliocene ) period, which is much larger than the modern cheetah and is found in Europe , India and China ; acinonyx intermedius , (middle of the Pleistocene period), was found at the same distance. The extinct genus Miracinonyx was a cheetah-like animal, but recent DNA analysis has certified that Mirasinonyx inexpectatus , Mirasinonyx studeri and Miracinonyx trumani , (early late Pleistocene period) were found in North America and referred to as "North America". American cheetah" but they were not real cheetahs, but rather closely related to the cougar.
species Edit
Although many sources list six or more species of cheetah, the taxonomic status of most species remains unresolved. Acinonyx rex —the king cheetah (see below)—was abandoned after it was discovered as the only recessive gene. The woolly cheetah of the species Acinonyx jubatus gutatus may also have been altered due to recessive genes . Some of the most recognized species include: [9]

Afghanistan , India , Iran , Iraq , Israel , Jordan , Oman , Pakistan , Saudi Arabia , Syria , Russia )
Northwest African Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus heck) : Northwest Africa (

Angola , Botswana , Republic of the Congo , Mozambique , Malawi , South Africa , Tanzania , Zambia , Zimbabwe and Namibia )
Acinonyx jubatus sommeringi : Central Africa ( Cameroon , Chad , Central African Republic , Ethiopia , Nigeria , Niger and Sudan )

During the Twelfth Dynasty circa 1991 BC to 1802 BC, trade with Punt was celebrated in popular literature via the Tale of the Shipwrecked Sailor in which Punt was described as an island inhabited by a giant intelligent serpent.
And in the Eighteenth Dynasty of Egypt, Hatshepsut circa 1507 to 1458 BC built a Red Sea fleet to facilitate trade and points south as far as Punt. This tells us that Punt was located not only east of Egypt as mentioned earlier, but south of it as well. The trade with Punt continued into the start of the 20th dynasty before terminating prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.
From all the descriptions of Punt thus given so far, one should deduce that the land of Punt was:
1. An island located south east of Egypt, and was inhabited by a legendary intelligent giant serpent.
2. Its civilization was at least as old as the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt, that is, no later than the time of Pharaoh Khufu circa 2589 to 2566 BC. And during this time it was already producing gold and trading with Egypt.
3. Its civilization must have lasted at least until prior to the end of Egypt's New Kingdom circa 1077 BC.

Eritrea (/ˌɛrɪˈtriːə/ ⓘ ERR-ih-TREE-ə or /-ˈtreɪ-/ -TRAY-;[17][18][19] Tigrinya: ኤርትራ, romanized: Ertra, pronounced [ʔer(ɨ)trä] ⓘ), officially the State of Eritrea, is a country in the Horn of Africa region of Eastern Africa, with its capital and largest city being Asmara. It is bordered by Ethiopia in the south, Sudan in the west, and Djibouti in the southeast. The northeastern and eastern parts of Eritrea have an extensive coastline along the Red Sea. The nation has a total area of approximately 117,600 km2 (45,406 sq mi),[9][10] and includes the Dahlak Archipelago and several of the Hanish Islands.
Human remains found in Eritrea have been dated to 1 million years old and anthropological research indicates that the area may contain significant records related to the evolution of humans. The Kingdom of Aksum, covering much of modern-day Eritrea and northern Ethiopia, was established during the first or second century AD.[20][21] It adopted Christianity around the middle of the fourth century.[22] Beginning in the 12th century, the Ethiopian Zagwe and Solomonid dynasties held sway to a fluctuating extent over the entire plateau and the Red Sea coast. Eritrea's central highlands, known as Mereb Melash ("Beyond the Mereb"), were the northern frontier region of the Ethiopian kingdoms and were ruled by a governor titled the Bahri Negasi ("lord of the sea"). In the 16th century, the Ottomans conquered the Eritrean coastline, then in May 1865 much of the coastal lowlands came under the rule of the Khedivate of Egypt, until it was transferred to Italy in February 1885. Beginning in 1885–1890, Italian troops systematically spread out from Massawa toward the highlands, eventually resulting in the formation of the colony of Italian Eritrea in 1889, establishing the present-day boundaries of the country. Italian rule continued until 1942 when Eritrea was placed under British Military Administration during World War II; following a UN General Assembly decision in 1952, Eritrea would govern itself with a local Eritrean parliament, but for foreign affairs and defense, it would enter into a federal status with Ethiopia for ten years. However, in 1962, the government of Ethiopia annulled the Eritrean parliament and formally annexed Eritrea. The Eritrean secessionist movement organised the Eritrean Liberation Front in 1961 and fought the Eritrean War of Independence until Eritrea gained de facto independence in 1991. Eritrea gained de jure independence in 1993 after an independence referendum.[23]
Contemporary Eritrea is a multi-ethnic country with nine recognised ethnic groups, each of which has a distinct language. The most widely spoken languages are Tigrinya and Arabic. The others are Tigre, Saho, Kuinama, Nara, Afar, Beja, Bilen and English.[24] Tigrinya, Arabic and English serve as the three working languages.[2][25][26][27] Most residents speak languages from the Afroasiatic family, either of the Ethiopian Semitic languages or Cushitic branches. Among these communities, the Tigrinyas make up about 50% of the population, with the Tigre people constituting around 30% of inhabitants. In addition, there are several Nilo-Saharan-speaking Nilotic ethnic groups. Most people in the country adhere to Christianity or Islam, with a small minority adhering to traditional faiths.[28]
