"Ticket to Ride" is a song by the Beatles from their 1965 album, Help!. It was recorded 15 February 1965 and released two months later. It was also used in the 1965 film Help!, The Beatles' second film, and was included on the film's soundtrack. In 2004, this song was ranked number 394 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
Composition
The song was written by John Lennon (credited to Lennon–McCartney). Lennon said that McCartney's contribution was limited to "the way Ringo played the drums". McCartney said that was an incomplete description, and that "we sat down and wrote it together... give him 60 percent of it... we sat down together and worked on that for a full three-hour songwriting session." The song is written in the key of A major.
The song features a coda with a different tempo that extends the song's length past three minutes. Lennon said this double-time section (with the lyric "My baby don't care") was one of his "favourite bits" in the song.
At the beginning of the main game, players are dealt four train car cards as their playing hand. They are also dealt three "destination ticket" cards, each of which shows a pair of cities on the map. These become goals, representing two end-points which players are secretly attempting to connect. The player must keep at least two of these destination cards and discard unwanted tickets to the bottom of the stack, if any. Once kept, a destination ticket may not be discarded for the rest of game. Each player also selects a group of 45 colored train pieces with a matching scoring marker.
Ticket to Ride is the first album by the American music duo Carpenters. At the time of its initial release in 1969, it was issued under the title Offering, with a completely different cover photo. It was a commercial failure and produced only one minor hit single, a ballad version of the Lennon-McCartney song "Ticket to Ride".
After the Carpenters' subsequent breakthrough, however, the album was reissued internationally under the name Ticket to Ride and sold moderately. The CD in the "Remastered Classics" series went out of print in March 2007. However, in Japan, the "Pack Series" released the Ticket to Ride and Close to You CDs together.
The album is far more self-contained than other Carpenters albums; excluding the orchestrations, bass by Joe Osborn and occasional guitar from Gary Sims, most of the instruments were played by Karen and Richard Carpenter themselves - drums and keyboards respectively - and 10 of the 13 songs were written by Richard and his lyricist John Bettis. It also stands out from subsequent Carpenters albums in that the lead vocals are evenly split between the two band members; on later albums, Karen Carpenter would perform most of the lead vocals and this is one of two albums where Karen provided virtually all of the drumming, the other being Now & Then, released in 1973.
1962–1966 (also known as "The Red Album") is a compilation record of songs by the English rock band The Beatles, spanning the years indicated in the title.
Released with its counterpart 1967–1970 ("The Blue Album") in 1973, it reached number 3 in the United Kingdom and number 1 in the United States Cashbox albums chart. However, in the US, the official chart was administered by Billboard, where 1962–1966 peaked at number 3, while 1967–1970 reached the top spot. This album was re-released in September 1993 on compact disc, charting at number 3 in the UK.
The album was compiled by Beatles manager Allen Klein. Even though the group had had success with cover versions of songs, most notably with "Twist and Shout", which made number 2 on the Billboard charts, only songs composed by the Beatles themselves were included. Along with its 1967–1970 counterpart, it compiles every single A-side released by the band in the UK.
As with 1967–1970, this compilation was produced by Apple/EMI at least partially in response to a bootleg collection titled Alpha Omega, which had been sold on television the previous year. Print advertising for the two records made a point of declaring them "the only authorized collection of the Beatles."
1967–1970 (widely known as "The Blue Album") is a compilation of songs by the English rock band The Beatles, spanning the years indicated in the title. It was released with 1962–1966 ("The Red Album"), in 1973. 1967–1970 made number 1 on the American Billboard chart and number 2 on the British Album Chart. This album was re-released in September 1993 on compact disc, charting at number 4 in the United Kingdom.
The album was compiled by Beatles manager Allen Klein. Songs performed by the Beatles as solo artists were also considered for inclusion, but like the cover songs on 1962–1966, limited space resulted in this idea having to be abandoned. Along with its 1962–1966 counterpart, it compiles every single A-side released by the band in the UK.

1 is a compilation album by English rock band The Beatles, originally released on 13 November 2000. The album features virtually every number-one single achieved in the United Kingdom and United States from 1962 to 1970 by the Beatles. Issued on the 30th anniversary of the band's break-up, it was their first compilation available on only one compact disc. 1 was a commercial success, and topped the charts worldwide. 1 has sold over 31million copies.
In addition, 1 is the fourth best-selling album in the U.S. since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking U.S. album sales in January 1991, and the best-selling album of the decade in the US from 2000 to 2009, as well as the best-selling album of the decade worldwide. 1 was remastered and reissued in September 2011, and was reissued and remastered again in several different deluxe editions in November 2015, the most comprehensive of which is a three-disc set entitled 1+.
As of June 2015, 1 is the sixth best-selling album of the 21st century in the UK, having sold over 3.1 million copies.
Blackpooli/ˈblækpuːl/ is a seaside resort in Lancashire, England, on England's northwest coast. The town is on the Irish Sea, between the Ribble and Wyre estuaries, 17.5 miles (28.2km) northwest of Preston, 27 miles (43km) north of Liverpool, 30 miles (48km) northwest of Bolton and 40 miles (64km) northwest of Manchester. It had an estimated population of 142,065 at the 2011 Census.
Throughout the Middle Ages and Early Modern period, Blackpool was a coastal hamlet in Lancashire's Hundred of Amounderness, and remained such until the mid-18th century when it became fashionable in England to travel to the coast in the summer to bathe in sea water to improve well-being. In 1781, visitors attracted to Blackpool's 7-mile (11km) sandy beach were able to use a new private road, built by Thomas Clifton and Sir Henry Hoghton. Stagecoaches began running to Blackpool from Manchester in the same year, and from Halifax in 1782. In the early 19th century, Henry Banks and his son-in-law John Cocker erected new buildings in Blackpool such that its population grew from less than 500 in 1801 to over 2,500 in 1851. St John's Church in Blackpool was consecrated in 1821.

Lyrics:
Dreaming to sounds
That carry me so far away
The freedom now
Forever I’ll be bound
Dream of the south
Oh where the suns so paramount
To the seasons
I’ll spend my time here now
They play like silent movies only you can see
You shelter them and keep them rolling onwards
Won’t you ever let them go
But tell me at what cost
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
Sometimes with a look in my eyes
I’ll be gliding through these hopeless dreams of mine
When’s right to step out of line
I’ve be waiting, waiting to see my form
I’ll find my ticket to ride
Leaving the ground
Carry on this warm embrace
I’m deep in now
Sanctuary found
Thoughts unavowed
Washing in like ocean waves
So let me drown
No never let me down
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
When’s right to step out of line
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
All I wanted to find is a place that I call paradise
Oh my I look at the signs and I pray just lead me away from here
The walls they fall away
I fall awake
I never want to loose this state of mind
It’s mine
And I’ll
Never let it go
But tell me at what cost
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect timeSometimes with a look in my eyes
I’ll be gliding through these hopeless dreams of mine

RULES:
The object of the game is to have the most points at the end of the game. You receive points three ways: Every time you place trains on the board and connect two cities, by completing destination cards, and by having the longest continuous train. You lose points for uncompleted destination cards.
Setup: layout the board and each player chooses a color. Place each players point tracking token in the corner next to the 1. Shuffle the train cards and deal 4 cards to each player. Place the deck on the table and turn over the top 5 cards face up on the table. Shuffle the destination cards and deal 3 to each player. Each player may discard one of those if they like. Any returned destination cards are placed at the bottom of the destination deck. Destination cards remain hidden from your opponents until the end of the game.
The person with the most travel experience goes first.
On your turn you perform 1 of three actions: Draw 2 train cards, Claim a route, or Draw destination tickets. If you draw train cards you may draw from the face up cards or the top of the deck, or one of each. There is no limit to the amount of cards a player can hold in his hand. When you draw a face up card, the top card of the deck immediately replaces the drawn card. If the draw deck runs out, shuffle the discard into a new draw deck.
Locomotives are wild cards, and if there is one face up, it can only be drawn if you haven’t drawn any other train cards this turn (it takes two draws to draw 1 face up locomotive). If your first draw was from the top of the draw deck and it was a locomotive, you are allowed to draw again. Whenever there are three face up locomotives, discard all 5 face up cards and flip 5 new ones over.
To claim a route you must play a colored set of train cards from your hand equal to the color and quantity of the route you wish to claim. Then place your colored train pieces on the board thus claiming your route. You may not mix card colors unless it is a locomotive, and you may not partially claim a route if you don’t have enough cards. Once you claim a route, it is permanently yours for the rest of the game.
If the route color is gray, then you are allowed to use any of one color to claim that route. If there are two paths next to each other, known as a double route, a single player may only claim one side. If you are playing with 2 or 3 players treat double routes as if they were single routes.
Each time you claim a route you gain points based on how long the route you claimed is. If the route is 1 train long you receive 1 point. If the route is 2 trains long you receive 2 points. 3 trains is worth 4 points. 4 is worth 7, 5 is 10, and 6 is 15. Each time you claim a route move your point tracker up the corresponding points.
Destination cards give or take away points at the end of the game as indicated by the number on the card. Add points to your score if you successfully connected the specified routes on your destination card. The path does not need to be the most efficient for it to count. For example if your destination said to get from Kansas City to Houston and you did this, you would still receive 5 points for making the route even though it wasn’t the most efficient. However, if you didn’t make the route, no matter how close you came, you receive negative points instead.
Once one player has 0, 1, or 2 trains left at the end of his turn, then each player, including that player, gets one final turn. Then the games ends and players calculate their score. You may re-count scores if necessary. Add or subtract the appropriate destination points. Finally, assign the player who has the longest continuous path a bonus of 10 points. If multiple players are tied for longest continuous path, then all tied players each receive 10 points.
Tally up all the points and the player with the most points wins. If there is a tie, then the player who completed more destination tickets wins. Still a tie, then the player who had the longer continuous path wins.

Lyrics:
Dreaming to sounds
That carry me so far away
The freedom now
Forever I’ll be bound
Dream of the south
Oh where the suns so paramount
To the seasons
I’ll spend my time here now
They play like silent movies only you can see
You shelter them and keep them rolling onwards
Won’t you ever let them go
But tell me at what cost
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
Sometimes with a look in my eyes
I’ll be gliding through these hopeless dreams of mine
When’s right to step out of line
I’ve be waiting, waiting to see my form
I’ll find my ticket to ride
Leaving the ground
Carry on this warm embrace
I’m deep in now
Sanctuary found
Thoughts unavowed
Washing in like ocean waves
So let me drown
No never let me down
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
When’s right to step out of line
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time
All I wanted to find is a place that I call paradise
Oh my I look at the signs and I pray just lead me away from here
The walls they fall away
I fall awake
I never want to loose this state of mind
It’s mine
And I’ll
Never let it go
But tell me at what cost
I’ll find the ticket to ride
I’ve been waiting for the perfect timeSometimes with a look in my eyes
I’ll be gliding through these hopeless dreams of mine
When’s right to step out of line
I’ve be waiting, waiting to see my form
I’ll find my ticket to ride
