The original line-up consisted of John Frölén on guitar and bass, John Odhinn Sandin on vocals, Håkan Sjödin on guitar and bass, and Otto Wiklund on drums. Håkan Sjödin left the band early so that he could play with Setherial full-time. The band's first album, titled In Battle, was recorded at Sunlight Studio in Stockholm, Sweden and was released through Napalm Records in 1997. Their second release, called The Rage of the Northmen, came in March 1998. It was recorded at Ballerina Audio, Umeå, Sweden. In 1999 the only member left was Frölén, who started writing material for a third album. In 2002 he began rehearsing with Sandin (this time on drums), soon asking Hans Carlsson (guitar) of Diabolical to join the band. In 2003, Nils Fjellström of Aeon replaced Sandin on drums and Sandin went back to handling the vocals and the Soul Metamorphosis EP was recorded at Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2004, their album Welcome to the Battlefield (which was recorded in three different studios) was released through Cold Records and Metal Blade Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Erik Rutan from the bands Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal. Rutan also donated a guitar solo to the album. In April 2005, the band parted ways with their label partner Cold Records after that album's release. In 2006, In Battle signed a contract with Nocturnal Art Productions and began working on their 4th full-length album, which turned out to be Kingdom of Fear. The album was released on September 3, 2007. In Battle are currently working on a fifth studio album with a working title of Flames & Death.
Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, in northwest Calhoun County, at the confluence of the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek rivers. It is the principal city of the Battle Creek, Michigan Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which encompasses all of Calhoun County. As of the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 52,347, while the MSA population was 136,146.
History and name origin
Battle Creek was named for a skirmish between a federal government land survey party led by Colonel John Mullett and two Native Americans, likely Potawatomi people, who were historically prominent in this area since before European encounter.
According to various European-American accounts, while Mullett and his group were surveying an area several miles from the present city in the winter of 1823-1824, their camp was raided by Native Americans. Two members of the survey party who had remained at the camp were attacked by two Indians. The Indians were reported as trying to steal provisions from the survey team. They were likely hungry because annuities and supplies were late or insufficient; the Potawatomi had ceded their land to the United States by an 1820 treaty and been restricted to a reservation. The Army was notorious for failing to deliver supplies and annuities on a timely basis.
Michigan is the only state to consist of two peninsulas. The Lower Peninsula, to which the name Michigan was originally applied, is often noted to be shaped like a mitten. The Upper Peninsula (often referred to as "the U.P.") is separated from the Lower Peninsula by the Straits of Mackinac, a five-mile (8km) channel that joins Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. The two peninsulas are connected by the Mackinac Bridge. The state has the longest freshwater coastline of any political subdivision in the world, being bounded by four of the five Great Lakes, plus Lake Saint Clair. As a result, it is one of the leading U.S. states for recreational boating. Michigan also has 64,980 inland lakes and ponds. A person in the state is never more than six miles (9.7km) from a natural water source or more than 85 miles (137km) from a Great Lakes shoreline.
Michigan: Report from Hell, released as Michigan in Japan, is a survival horror game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Spike. It was released in Japan on August 5, 2004, in Europe on September 30, 2005, and in Australia in 2005. This game was never released in North America. Directed by Akira Ueda and planned by Goichi Suda, the game focuses on a news crew for the fictional ZaKa TV, dedicated to covering strange phenomena. The game is unique in the sense that it is played almost entirely though the viewfinder of a camera; and the game is lost if the player runs out of film before solving the mysteries in a mission.
Plot
In Michigan, players take the role of a rookie cameraman for ZaKa TV, the entertainment division of the powerful ZaKa conglomerate. Accompanied by Brisco, an outspoken sound engineer, and Pamela, a reporter, the player is sent to investigate a mysterious mist that has descended over the city. The player quickly discovers that the mist is somehow transforming people into fleshy, leech-like monsters with human limbs. Pamela is attacked by the creatures, and is later found in the process of transforming into one. The player, Brisco, and a new female reporter are sent to investigate the source of the monster outbreak.

The naming of Battle Creek is a mystery. Some attribute the name to an encounter between two members of the Potawatomi and a federal government land survey party.
Another theory is attributed to a local river, which was known as Waupakiso by the local tribe, and the name was a reference to a battle between two indigenous tribes before the arrival of Europeans.
A post office was opened in Battle Creek in 1832. The first school was taught in a small log house about 1833 or 1834. A brick manufacturing plant, called the oldest enterprise in the township, was established in 1840 by Simon Carr and operated until 1903.

Touring the Historic Milton - Battle Creek, Michigan
The Milton is the new name for a historic tower in downtown Battle Creek, and it went through a restoration starting in 2018, which was completed in 2021. The mazzanine was brought back to its original glamor with gold leafing and tile work, making for a spectacular treasure for the city.
The building was originally built in 1931 by the Old Merchants National Bank & Trust Co. and it has gone through several different names changes over the years since. It is one of two towers built on Michigan Avenue in Battle Creek, and they remain a recognizable part of the skyline of downtown.

The Battle Creek Sanitarium was founded in the late 1800s by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg. In addition to some of his sometimes bizarre treatments that were featured in the movie "The Road to Wellville", Kellogg also funded organizations that promoted eugenics theories at the core of their philosophical agenda.
W. K. Kellogg had worked for his brother in a variety of capacities at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. Tired of living in the shadow of his brother John Harvey Kellogg, he struck out on his own, going to the boom-towns surrounding the oilfields in Oklahoma as a broom salesman. Having failed, he returned to work as an assistant to his brother.
While working at the sanitariums' laboratory, W.K. spilled liquefied cornmeal on a heating device that cooked the product and rendered it to flakes. He tasted the flakes and added milk to them. He was able to get his brother to allow him to give some of the product to some of the patients at the sanitarium, and the patients' demand for the product exceeded his expectations to the point that W.K made the decision to leave the sanitarium. Along with some investors, he built a factory to satisfy the demand for his "corn flakes".
Inspired by Kellogg's innovation, C. W. Post invented Grape-Nuts and founded his own cereal company in the town. Battle Creek has been nicknamed "the Cereal City."
Today, the Kellogg Company World Headquarters is still located in Battle Creek, employing 2,000 people.
In 1982, at the insistence of the Kellogg Company, the city annexed Battle Creek Township, nearly doubling the city's population. Kellogg's even went so far as to threaten to move their headquarters if the annexation failed to occur.
As of the census of 2020, there were 52,731 people residing in Battle Creek.
The city's racial makeup was 68.2% White, 17.3% Black or African American, .6% Native American, 3.7% Asian, 8.1% from two or more races, and 7.9% Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The median household income was $42,285, and the Per capita income was $25,270. 22.7% of the population was living below the poverty line.

Michigan is an incredibly important state in the country due to its history with and current home of the U.S. automobile industry. But while the state today is home to about 10 million Americans, the vast majority of them live almost as close to the border of Ohio and Indianapolis as possible. Here's why so few Michiganders live in the north and why Michigan owns the Upper Peninsula in the first place.

Ohio State vs. Michigan fight: Players brawl after Michigan players try to plant flag at midfield
A fight broke out at Ohio Stadium after Ohio State's loss as Michigan players tried to plant a flag at midfield.
The Buckeyes were trying to sing "Carmen Ohio" at the south end of the stadium, a post game tradition, as multiple Wolverines carried out a Michigan flag to midfield and tried to plant it on the Block O.
Essentially, the entire Ohio State team took exception and a brawl broke out between dozens of players.
At one point, Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer was able to grab the flag and rip it off of the pole before walking away.
The fight was eventually broken up and the players separated.
The brawl comes after a hard-fought and emotional 13-10 loss for Ohio State. Will Howard threw two interceptions and Jayden Fielding missed two field goals, one of which was fro...

Michigan - mountains and mines, wild forests, islands, and lakes sit together with one of the largest cities in the country, a heavily urbanized hive of industry home to millions of people. This is a fascinating state - one that tells the story of America - both its failures and its promise. I hope you'll join me to hear it.

Will Howard threw two interceptions and Jayden Fielding missed two field goals, one of which was from a short distance.
Ohio State needs a miracle to make it in the Big Ten Championship. They would need losses by both Indiana and Penn State.

Nestled in the heart of the Great Lakes region, the Midwest state of Michigan lies on the border with Canada. Home to more than 12,000 lakes and more beaches than the country’s entire Atlantic coastline, it’s made up of two large peninsulas and several scenic and secluded islands. While the state is defined by its wealth of waterways, much of it is coated in endless forests and wilderness. As such, there are loads of great outdoor activities to be enjoyed, with hiking, camping and sailing all popular. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Michigan.

Filmed on Monday, July 3 2023, I drive around Battle Creek, MI to see what's going on.

Join me as I take my first tour in over a decade in this marvelous building.

Michigan - mountains and mines, wild forests, islands, and lakes sit together with one of the largest cities in the country, a heavily urbanized hive of industry home to millions of people. This is a fascinating state - one that tells the story of America - both its failures and its promise. I hope you'll join me to hear it.

If I could get back to Battle Creek I'd leave this town just in a beat Get back to the city where my life was not in shit I'd visit the family who never cared If I'm alive or dead And tell them how happy I am without them Chorus: I'd ride my bike past the police station Sit by the river with a shitty ass grin If there's one thing I know about Battle Creek It's that once I'm there I ain't never gonna leave again It's a place where trees are not pre planned A place where my whole life began Never needed anybody else but me and the sky above Cereal city take me by the hand Take me back to when I was young And tell me all the things you know I wanna hear
