A country with values different from those of the capitalist economy: that is Bhutan.
One typical example would be the "GNH" (Gross National Happiness) indicator.
It is said that Bhutan values "spiritual wealth" more than "economic wealth.
In other words, they value "GNH" (Gross National Happiness) rather than "GDP" (Gross Domestic Product).
Of course, I understand that this is a one-way view and that the ideal and reality are different.
Nevertheless, I believe that Bhutan is a country with a rich heart.
For example, there are no traffic lights in Bhutan. Not even just one.
High-traffic intersections are Roundabout, and police officers use hand signals to direct traffic, especially in busy areas and at busy times of the day.
And yet, you don't hear the sound of a horn.

Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan, is a unique blend of tradition and modernity, nestled in the western part of the country. It sits at an elevation of about 2,334 meters (7,660 feet) in the valley of the Wang Chuu River. Unlike other world capitals, Thimphu stands out for its preservation of traditional Bhutanese architecture and culture, while still adapting to modern infrastructure.
The city is home to several important landmarks, such as the Tashichho Dzong, a fortress-monastery that houses the Bhutanese government and the office of the King, as well as the Memorial Chorten, built in honor of the third king of Bhutan. Other notable attractions include the Buddha Dordenma, a massive Buddha statue that overlooks the city, a...

People are not in a hurry to get to the next intersection, and they are in harmony by being considerate of each other.
Can you believe it? If this were India, you would hear 10,000 honking horns a day. LOL!
Thus, although Bhutan and India seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of population size, economic scale, national policies, and the way people think and act, India is actually Bhutan's greatest friend.
What would a Bhutanese think if he/she traveled to India?
What would Indians think if they traveled to Bhutan?
The reason for my interest is that I spent three weeks in India before visiting Bhutan.
Wouldn't you be curious? LOL!
I would like to offer one final comment.
I am not asking, "Which is better, Bhutan or India?" I am not trying to make a statement that "Bhutan or India is better?
It is just that I found these two countries interesting because they are so different in every way.
It is this kind of "discovery" that makes travel so enjoyable!

Welcome to Episode 2, Part 1 of my Bhutan travel series, where we explore the beautiful capital city of Thimphu! Our journey began early in the morning at 6 AM from Phuentsholing, driving through scenic mountain roads. Along the way, we stopped at a mesmerizing waterfall, soaking in the natural beauty of Bhutan.
Our first destination was a unique one—a Hindu temple in Bhutan, just 5 years old, built under the patronage of His Majesty the 5th King. It was a moment of cultural connection and spirituality.
Next, we visited the iconic Buddha Dordenma, a majestic 169-foot-tall statue overlooking the valley, a symbol of peace and enlightenment. From there, we headed to Simply Bhutan, an interactive museum that gives you a glimpse into Bhutan's rich heritage and traditional lifestyle.
For lunch, we stopped at Heritage Home to enjoy authentic Bhutanese cuisine, including the famous Ema Datshi (spicy chili and cheese), red rice, and Jasha Maroo, a delicious chicken dish.
Our final stop of the day was at the Takin Reserve, home to Bhutan's national animal, the fascinating and mythical-looking takin.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we’ll continue exploring this incredible country! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to follow along on this adventure!"

Thimphu City || Capital City of Bhutan || Thimphu || Bhutan
Other notable attractions include the Buddha Dordenma, a massive Buddha statue that overlooks the city, and the Changangkha Lhakhang, a revered monastery.
Thimphu is also known for its unique traffic system—there are no traffic lights in the city. Instead, traffic is directed by policemen stationed at key intersections. The city hosts various festivals, such as the annual Thimphu Tshechu, a vibrant celebration of Bhutanese culture with traditional masked dances and performances.
As Bhutan's political and economic center, Thimphu has grown rapidly in recent years, with increasing modern amenities like cafes, restaurants, and shopping centers, all while retaining its deep-rooted traditions.
