Card game
A card game is any game using playing cards as the primary device with which the game is played, be they traditional or game-specific. Countless card games exist, including families of related games (such as poker). A small number of card games played with traditional decks have formally standardized rules, but most are folk games whose rules vary by region, culture, and person.
Many games that are not generally placed in the family of card games do in fact use cards for some aspect of their gameplay. Similarly, some games that are placed in the card game genre involve a board. The distinction is that the gameplay of a card game primarily depends on the use of the cards by players (the board is simply a guide for scorekeeping or for card placement), while board games (the principal non-card game genre to use cards) generally focus on the players' positions on the board, and use the cards for some secondary purpose.
Playing cards
A card game is played with a deck or pack of playing cards which are identical in size and shape. Each card has two sides, the face and the back. Normally the backs of the cards are indistinguishable. The faces of the cards may all be unique, or there can be duplicates. The composition of a deck is known to each player. In some cases several decks are shuffled together to form a single pack or shoe.

Jeu de cartes (Balanchine)
Jeu de cartes (En., Card Game) is a ballet in three "deals" by Igor Stravinsky composed in 1936–37, with libretto by the composer in collaboration with M. Malaieff (a friend of Stravinsky's eldest son Théodore Stravinsky) and choreography by George Balanchine. The ballet was premiered by the American Ballet at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York City on 27 April 1937, with the composer conducting. The European premier was on 13 October 1937 at the Dresden Staatsoper. The New York City Ballet premiere took place on 15 February 1951 under the title The Card Game at City Center of Music and Drama, New York.
Jeu de cartes was commissioned in November 1935, although the idea of card game, especially the game of poker, didn't get firmly formed in Stravinsky's mind until after August 1936. The work was written during Stravinsky's neoclassical period, which was ushered in by one of his earlier ballets, Pulcinella, premiered in 1920.
The main character is the deceitful Joker, who fashions himself unbeatable, owing to his chameleon-like ability to become any card. There are also other cards -- Queens, Aces—and several card players portrayed in the ballet. Jeu de cartes shows that even the higher value cards, in much the same way as the people of higher position, may be occasionally defeated by the lower value cards.

500 (card game)
500 or Five Hundred is a trick-taking game that is an extension of Euchre with some ideas from Bridge. For two to six players it is most commonly played by four players in partnerships but is sometimes recommended as a good three player game. It arose in America before 1900 and was promoted by the United States Playing Card Company, which copyrighted and marketed the rules in 1904. 500 is a social card game and was highly popular in the United States until around 1920 when first Auction bridge and then Contract Bridge drove it from favour. It continues to enjoy popularity in Australia, New Zealand and Quebec.
Setup
Of the many variants to 500, the standard deck contains 43 playing cards: a Joker is included (sometimes two, in which case the black-and-white joker beats the coloured one), and the 2s, 3s, and two 4s are removed. Either the two black 4s are removed, or the 4 of spades and 4 of diamonds are removed, in which case the 4 that matches the trump color is also considered trump, so that there are always 13 trump cards (14 when using two jokers). Cards are dealt to each of the four players and three (four with two jokers) are dealt face down on the table to form the kitty (also known as the widow the blind or the hole card.) Alternatively, a 45 card deck can be used (46 with two jokers), in which case the 4s are not removed. Each player still receives a hand of 10 cards, but the kitty is increased to five cards (six with two jokers).

Collectible card game
A collectible card game (CCG), also called a trading card game (TCG) or customizable card game, is a kind of card game that first emerged in 1993 and consists of specially designed sets of playing cards. Terms such as "collectible" and "trading" are used interchangeably because of copyrights and marketing strategies of game companies. The rudimentary definition requires the game to resemble trading cards in shape and function, be mass-produced for trading or collectibility, and it must have rules for strategic game play. The definition of CCGs is further refined as being a card game in which the player uses his own deck with cards primarily sold in random assortments. Acquiring these cards may be done by trading with other players or buying card packs. If every card in the game can be obtained by making a small number of purchases, or if the manufacturer does not market it as a CCG, then it is not a CCG. Successful CCGs typically have upwards of thousands of unique cards, with the most successful one, Magic: The Gathering, having nearly 15,000.

The Wheel of Time
The Wheel of Time is a series of high fantasy novels written by American author James Oliver Rigney Jr., under the pen name Robert Jordan. Originally planned as a six-book series, The Wheel of Time spanned fourteen volumes, in addition to a prequel novel and a companion book. Jordan began writing the first volume, The Eye of the World, in 1984. It was published in January 1990.
The author died in 2007 while working on what was planned to be the twelfth and final volume in the series. He prepared extensive notes so another author could complete the book according to his wishes. Fellow fantasy author and long-time Wheel of Time fan Brandon Sanderson was brought in to complete the final book, but during the writing process it was decided that the book would be far too large to be published in one volume and would instead be published as three volumes:The Gathering Storm (2009), Towers of Midnight (2010), and A Memory of Light (2013).
The series draws on numerous elements of both European and Asian mythology, most notably the cyclical nature of time found in Buddhism and Hinduism, the metaphysical concepts of balance and duality, and a respect for nature found in Daoism. Additionally, its creation story has similarities to Christianity's "Creator" (Light) and Shai'tan, "The Dark One" (Shaytan is an Arabic word that in religious contexts is used as a name for the Devil). It was also partly inspired by Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (1869).

The Wheel of Time (video game)
The Wheel of Time is a first-person shooter-style video game based on Robert Jordan's fantasy series of the same name. It was released in 1999 by Legend Entertainment.
Gameplay
The game is based on the Unreal Engine, combining elements of first-person shooter games like Unreal with strategy/role-playing game elements. It can be played either in single-player or multiplayer modes, which determines the course of the game. The single-player gameplay variant is linear and centered on a fictional character named Elayna Sedai, the Keeper of the Chronicles of the White Tower.
In the multiplayer version of the game, however, the player may act as either Elayna Sedai, the Leader of the Children of the Light, one of the Forsaken, or the Hound, an entirely new character type. This multiplayer version contains two modes: Arena and Citadel. Arena is a basic deathmatch, in which the winner is the player or team who kills the most. Citadel is similar to a capture-the-flag style of gameplay, in which each team must capture the "seal" of the other teams. Seals can be protected in the base through a variety of traps and computer-controlled guards. Though the multiplayer game's play volume was never as high as that of many other first-person shooters, it continued to be played by a loyal group of fans long after its release.

The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game is a role-playing game based on The Wheel of Time, an epic fantasy series by American author Robert Jordan.
History
One of the few benefits that Wizards of the Coast saw from their purchase of Last Unicorn Games was The Wheel of Time Roleplaying Game (2001), created by the Last Unicorn team and built upon their licensing expertise.
The game consists of two publications by Wizards of the Coast, a core rulebook published in October 2001 and an expansion, The Prophecies of the Dragon, which followed in April 2002. Shortly after the release of Prophecies of the Dragon, Wizards of the Coast confirmed that they would not be proceeding with any further expansions for the game. The roleplaying game rights have since reverted to the estate of Robert Jordan.
The rulebook
The core rulebook is a 317-page large-format hardcover book. It was written and compiled by Charles Ryan, Steven Long, Christian Moore and Owen K.C. Stephens for Wizards of the Coast. Robert Jordan served as creative consultant and contributed an introduction, in which he revealed that he used to serve as Dungeon Master in Dungeons and Dragons games played by his stepson Will and his friends. The book has a cover by Darrell K. Sweet, who also provides the covers for the novels, and maps by Ellisa Mitchell, who likewise provides cartography for the novels. A large number of artists provide full-color art throughout the book.

RULES:
The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Pick a dealer who shuffles the deck and deals 7 cards facedown to each player. Players look at their own cards but keep them hidden from others. The dealer places the remaining deck facedown on the table as a draw deck and flips over the top card to start a discard pile. If this card is an action card, then ignore it and flip over another card until you get a non-action card.
The player to the left of the dealer goes first, then play initially proceeds clockwise. On your turn, you may play 1 card from your hand to discard pile, if you want. You can only play a card if it matches at least one attribute of the top card on the discard pile: its color, number, or symbol. If you cannot make a play, or you choose not to, then you must draw the top card of the deck and add it to your hand. If the drawn card is a playable card, then you are allowed to play it if you want. If there are no cards in the draw deck, then shuffle all but the top card of the discard pile into a new draw deck.
After you play or draw your turn ends and the next player goes. The moment you only have 1 card in your hand, you must yell “UNO” to alert of the other players you are about to win. However, if someone beats you to it, and calls “UNO” before the next player takes their turn, then you must draw 2 penalty cards.
There are special action cards you can play. When you do this is what happens:
Draw 2: The next player must draw 2 cards and loses their turn
Skip: the next player loses their turn.
Reverse: change the direction of play so it goes in the opposite direction
Wild: this card can match to any card in the discard pile. After playing a wild, you get to pick the color that continues play.
Wild shuffle hands: this card is a wild and can be played on anything. Once played, collect every card from all the players’ hands and shuffle them together. Starting with the player to your left, deal out all the cards to all the players. Players may end up with more or fewer cards than what they started with. Play continues in the current direction of play with you picking the color.
Wild draw four: this card is a wild and can be played on anything, however you are only allowed to play this card if you do not have any other cards in your hand with the same color as the top card in the discard. Once played, the next player may either draw 4 cards and lose their turn or they may challenge. If you challenge a draw 4, then the player who played it must reveal their hand. If they do not have the color in their hand that matches the discard pile they played to, then you must draw 6 cards and lose your turn. If they do have the color, then they must draw 4 cards instead and it is your turn. Regardless of the outcome of a challenge, that player picks the color that continues play.
Wild customizable: Before the game begins, remove these 3 cards and write with a pencil on them your own rule that must be followed when played. This card is a wild that may be played on any other card and you get to pick the color that continues play.

At the end of each hand, the player who went out scores points for each card remaining in their opponents’ hands. All number cards are worth their face value. RULES:
The object of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Pick a dealer who shuffles the deck and deals 7 cards facedown to each player. Players look at their own cards but keep them hidden from others. The dealer places the remaining deck facedown on the table as a draw deck and flips over the top card to start a discard pile. If this card is an action card, then ignore it and flip over another card until you get a non-action card.
The player to the left of the dealer goes first, then play initially proceeds clockwise. On your turn, you may play 1 card from your hand to discard pile, if you want. You can only play a card if it matches at least one attribute of the top card on the discard pile: its color, number, or symbol. If you cannot make a play, or you choose not to, then you must draw the top card of the deck and add it to your hand. If the drawn card is a playable card, then you are allowed to play it if you want. If there are no cards in the draw deck, then shuffle all but the top card of the discard pile into a new draw deck.
After you play or draw your turn ends and the next player goes. The moment you only have 1 card in your hand, you must yell “UNO” to alert of the other players you are about to win. However, if someone beats you to it, and calls “UNO” before the next player takes their turn, then you must draw 2 penalty cards.
There are special action cards you can play. When you do this is what happens:
Draw 2: The next player must draw 2 cards and loses their turn
Skip: the next player loses their turn.
Reverse: change the direction of play so it goes in the opposite direction
Wild: this card can match to any card in the discard pile. After playing a wild, you get to pick the color that continues play.
Wild shuffle hands: this card is a wild and can be played on anything. Once played, collect every card from all the players’ hands and shuffle them together. Starting with the player to your left, deal out all the cards to all the players. Players may end up with more or fewer cards than what they started with. Play continues in the current direction of play with you picking the color.
Wild draw four: this card is a wild and can be played on anything, however you are only allowed to play this card if you do not have any other cards in your hand with the same color as the top card in the discard. Once played, the next player may either draw 4 cards and lose their turn or they may challenge. If you challenge a draw 4, then the player who played it must reveal their hand. If they do not have the color in their hand that matches the discard pile they played to, then you must draw 6 cards and lose your turn. If they do have the color, then they must draw 4 cards instead and it is your turn. Regardless of the outcome of a challenge, that player picks the color that continues play.
Wild customizable: Before the game begins, remove these 3 cards and write with a pencil on them your own rule that must be followed when played. This card is a wild that may be played on any other card and you get to pick the color that continues play.
The first player to get rid of all the cards in their hand, wins. There is an optional victory method you can play which is for points. At the end of each hand, the player who went out scores points for each card remaining in their opponents’ hands. All number cards are worth their face value. Skip, reverse, and draw 2 are each worth 20 points. Wild cards are worth 50 points each. The first player to 500 points, wins.
Card game
A card game is any game using playing cards as the primary device with which the game is played, be they traditional or game-specific. Countless card games exist, including families of related games (such as poker). A small number of card games played with traditional decks have formally standardized rules, but most are folk games whose rules vary by region, culture, and person.
Many games that are not generally placed in the family of card games do in fact use cards for some aspect of their gameplay. Similarly, some games that are placed in the card game genre involve a board. The distinction is that the gameplay of a card game primarily depends on the use of the cards by players (the board is simply a guide for scorekeeping or for card placement), while board games (the principal non-card game genre to use cards) generally focus on the players' positions on the board, and use the cards for some secondary purpose.
Playing cards
A card game is played with a deck or pack of playing cards which are identical in size and shape. Each card has two sides, the face and the back. Normally the backs of the cards are indistinguishable. The faces of the cards may all be unique, or there can be duplicates. The composition of a deck is known to each player. In some cases several decks are shuffled together to form a single pack or shoe.

A fun Swedish card game to play with family and friends, where 2-5 players compete to be the first to get 500 points. A few rules to learn but Nick will explain them to you : )
A few rules that might need to be clarified:
The aces can be used both as a high or low card.
You can build both sets with three of four cards of the same kind, e.g. jacks or threes... You can also build runs, e.g. ace , two , three of hearts or six, seven, eight of diamonds.
You can add cards to other players sets or runs by putting them on the table in front of yourself.
