The Times-Picayune is an American newspaper published in New Orleans, Louisiana, since January 25, 1837. The current publication is the result of the 1914 merger of The Picayune with the Times-Democrat; and was printed on a daily basis until October 2012, when it went to a Wednesday/Friday/Sunday schedule.
The paper, together with the NOLA.com website, comprise the NOLA Media Group division of Advance Publications.
Established as The Picayune in 1837 by Francis Lumsden and George Wilkins Kendall, the paper's initial price was one picayune, a Spanish coin equivalent to 6¼¢ (or precisely one-sixteenth of a dollar). Under Eliza Jane Nicholson, who inherited the struggling paper when her husband died in 1876, the Picayune introduced innovations such as society reporting (known as the "Society Bee" columns), children's pages, and the first women's advice column, which was written by Dorothy Dix. Between 1880 and 1890, the paper more than tripled its circulation.
The Times is a British daily national newspaper based in London. It began in 1785 under the title The Daily Universal Register and became The Times on 1 January 1788. The Times and its sister paperThe Sunday Times (founded in 1821) are published by Times Newspapers, since 1981 a subsidiary of News UK, itself wholly owned by the News Corp group headed by Rupert Murdoch. The Times and The Sunday Times do not share editorial staff, were founded independently and have only had common ownership since 1967.
In 1959, historian of journalism Allan Nevins analysed the importance of The Times in shaping the views of events of London's elite:
The San Mateo County Times is a daily newspaper published by the MediaNews Group. The paper is distributed throughout San Mateo County, Monday through Saturday. Before being sold in 1996, it had been published for over 100 years as the San Mateo Times, originally published by Amphlett Publishing
San Mateo Times
Amphlett also published a weekly "shopping" newspaper, The San Mateo Post, on Wednesday mornings. The Times provided extensive coverage of San Mateo County news and sports (sometimes using high school or college correspondents).
It had one of the first television columnists in the San Francisco Bay Area, Bob Foster, who covered the birth of KPIX, San Francisco's first television station, in December 1948. Foster remained on the staff for many years, covering Bay Area television and radio. He was an occasional guest on KGO Radio talk shows.
In 1968, Amphlett acquired several weekly newspapers in San Bruno, South San Francisco, Pacifica, and Daly City. All operations for these papers were moved to a central facility in South San Francisco.
The Lerner papers focused on community news and local issues, including a widely read police blotter, but also featured localized sections devoted to arts and entertainment, food, lifestyles and high-school and neighborhood sports, like "hyper-local" versions of daily newspapers.
At one time, the chain had its own printing plant at its headquarters in the Rogers Park, Chicago, neighborhood and a network of satellite offices across the city and its suburbs.
Journalists who got their start at Lerner include the late Mike Royko, the Crain's Chicago Business columnist Greg Hinz, the Chicago Sun-Times columnists Bill Zwecker and Robert Feder, the sportscaster Bruce Wolf, the novelist Bill Brashler, the syndicated columnist Robert C. Koehler and Ted Allen, host of Food Network's "Chopped" and "All-Star Academy," and former cast member of the Bravo hit Queer Eye.

Eyes of the Storm - Documentary of The Times-Picayune photographers
On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina bore down on the city of New Orleans, resulting in one of the greatest tragedies in American history.
The in-depth news coverage provided by The Times-Picayune, the leading daily newspaper of New Orleans, contributed to it winning two Pulitizer Prizes.
This is the story of The Times-Picayune photographers who stayed behind and covered the devastation of their own city, recalled in their own words two years later.

We explore the old abandoned Times Picayune building in New Orleans, once the major newspaper printing facility for New Orleans. We had permission to go inside and film what once was one of the most advanced newspaper printing plants in the country.

Produced by Danny Bourque.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding

SUMMARY
=======
However, under competitive pressure from a new New Orleans edition of The Advocate (based in Baton Rouge), the Times-Picayune resumed daily publication in 2014.
The paper and the NOLA.com website form the NOLA Media Group division of Advance Publications.
The paper was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service in 2006 for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Four of The Times-Picayune’s staff reporters also received Pulitzers for breaking-news reporting for their coverage of the storm. The paper funds the Edgar A. Poe Award for journalistic excellence, which is presented annually by the White House Correspondents' Association.
Columnist Rod Walker, sports betting director Zach Ewing, and sports betting writer Jim Derry make their predictions for tonight's Final Four matchups.
Established as The Picayune in 1837 by Francis Lumsden and George Wilkins Kendall, the paper's initial price was one picayune, a Spanish coin equivalent to 6¼¢ (half a bit, or one-sixteenth of a dollar).[1] Under Eliza Jane Nicholson, who inherited the struggling paper when her husband died in 1876, the Picayune introduced innovations such as society reporting (known as the "Society Bee" columns), children's pages, and the first women's advice column, which was written by Dorothy Dix. Between 1880 and 1890, the paper more than tripled its circulation.

salahkah diriku
bila ku berkata
kau pendusta
kau salahkan diriku
silap ku anggap kau penawar
kau racun berbisa
kau racun fikiranku
ketara berbeza caramu
dengan caraku
kian berubah
kotornya/naifnya hidupmu
silap ku anggap kau cahaya
bidadari syurga
kau mungkiri janjimu
7 lautan sanggup ku renang
luas benua untuk ku rentas
selamatkan mahkotamu
dunia penuh dugaannya
jahat hasutan manusia
selamatkanlah dirimu...

The Times - Gadisku Dalam Koma
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah keadaannya
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah situasinya
Dengarkanlah
Lagu ini bila sedar
Betapa pilu tangisku
Ku berikrar takkan ingkar
Moga kau sembuh segera
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah keadaannya
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah situasinya
Maafkanlah
Diri ini jika pernah
Salah dan silap dengan mu
Ku berdoa ke atas-Nya
Moga kau pulih semula
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah keadaannya
Gadisku dalam koma
Seriuskah situasinya
Bahaya sedang menunggu mu.....

Well some kid got the lock down 'Cause he got flip with an officer No you don't do that in this town Unless you can bail yourself out Some kids got the kick down Fightin' straights from Fenway Park But who was in the right now And who still feels the scars? Whoah, pick yourself up now, lets go Now when we come to your town Ain't no one gonna be a thug But we're gonna have a lot of words now So ya tough hoods listen up I seen ya drinkin' down the river I seen ya fightin' at the shows I seen em crawl from every niche around And then I've seen em go These are the times And I don't care how it happens Things just gotta change Are you in it for a lifetime Are you giving back what you take Is what I'm saying sinking in Or is it just another wasted day Theres one thing that they got that we ain't got Its the long arm of the law When the mace came out I clutched the ground Then they kicked me up some more
